What can I say. Very disappointed in this game.
Pros: Music is pretty good. Be A Pro is a different twist. hhhmmm...can't think of anything else.
Cons: Graphics haven't changed since I last had this series which is NHL 04 or so. Absolutely terrible!! And no wide screen support. Every other modern game that I have can do that but EA couldn't be bothered to add that one little thing.
Oh and the Be A Pro...PS3 and XBox get to start in the minors. Not us PC types. Off to the NHL on the first line. Sure you can change that but why can't we start in the minors? As I recall from NHL 04, they had full support for updating the rosters of each team which you could download from EA and was updated weekly. Forget that...that's gone too.
I even checked out online play. Too bad you need the direct IP to connect to. No lobby, no easy way to find others who want to play. I've had Star Trek games from back in 2001 which did a better job of online play.
Let's face it when it comes to PC gaming, EA could care less about the PC community. For them it's all about the consoles. I'll just add, if there isn't major rework on this game next year as I've read, I'll be hard pressed to purchase NHL 10.
