If you love hockey, then you will love NHL 08
Time to start with the bad news first. The superstar difficulty level is on steroids. With Easy being too easy, pro being just as easy, and of course superstar being next to impossible. Its great to have a computer challenge, but come on here. At least All Madden you have a better chance of winning. Even on easy the computer scores way too many easy goals. I created many 99 overall goalies to put the game to the test. Still they score way too many goals on you. You'd think with 99 speed for a goalie the gap would be covered faster. Player to AI passing could be irritating at times.
Good news is the in-depth game play options it gives you. You can substitute any league team into Dynasty Mode. You can put any NHL team into the World Tournament. Create a player is fun and easy to do. If you want a 6'4" 275 lb. goalie. You can have that. If you want a 6'9" 275 lb. skater. No problem. If you are cheap like me and want to play smash mouth hockey. One timers are a bit tricky. When you are dead on, the rewards are greater. Body checks and cheap shots on defenseless skaters adds to the excitement. When you finally nail that sucker for scoring a goal against you. Life couldn't be any sweeter. The game is worth the money. Grab 3 of your friends and join up against the computer or play some 2 on 2.
