If you are looking for realistic hockey, stay away!
Graphics: Player models are okay, but everything from the crowds to the menu screens is very sub-par.
Sound: Good play-by-play most of the time, sound effects are good too.
Gameplay: Here's where it gets ugly. The AI, both offensive and defensive is non existant to broken. The AI will never set up a play, they will simply crash your net over and over while your D-men (no matter what you tell them to do) will stand around doing nothing. Goaltending is a complete joke. The goalies will flop around like a fish out of water at the slightest puck movement in front of the net, easily beaten by constant one-timers. Stars like Luongo or Brodeur make no difference, expect to let in a goal on every 5 shots or so unless you completely shut down the zone. (Of course you have to do all of this yourself, expect no aid from your AI linemates. The statistics this produces are absurd, expect 12 goal games (using the 5 minute periods!) once you get the hang of it. You'll have to restrict yourself from using the cheesy goals, but even then expect ludicrous scores all the time.
All in all, it can be amusing but do not mistake this for a hockey simulation, it is nothing more than a hockey themed arcade game.
