Bust a Move Pocket Review
The Neo Geo Pocket Color does a very good job of rendering the Bust A Move playfield, characters, and bubbles, which appear in vibrant, easy-to-distingush colors.
Young MC's hit rap song is back - in pocket form! OK, fine, it's really the puzzle game that has appeared on just about every platform released in the last decade. Known as Puzzle Bobble in Japan, the Bust A Move series puts Taito's two favorite dinosaurs, Bub and Bob, behind a bubble-shooting cannon. The object is to shoot these colored bubbles up into your playfield in the hopes of connecting three like-colored bubbles together. Do this, and the bubbles disappear, and gameplay continues.
All the popular Bust A Move modes are here, including a time attack-like puzzle mode, versus games against the CPU or a human opponent, and a one-player endless mode, where you play until you lose the game or your mind, whichever comes first.
The Neo Geo Pocket Color does a very good job of rendering the Bust A Move playfield, characters, and bubbles, which appear in vibrant, easy-to-distingush colors. The music is fairly catchy, as well - though not nearly as catchy as Young MC's hit song of the same name. All in all, this is a good portable puzzle game for one or two players.
