NFL Quarterback Club 2000 is quite possibly the worst football game ever made.

I think I was to generous on my first review of NFL Quarterback Club 2000 for the N64, (I gave it a 4.5), so I decided to rereview it. Nothing is better than reviewing a bad game! The reason being I can rip it over and over again while thinking of what to say instantly. This is no exception. I noticed that this got average reviews from Gamespot and IGN, who trashed the Dreamcast version. Take it from me; they're both the same, except the Dreamcast version has slightly better graphics.

NFL Quarterback Club 2000 is so bad, I consider it an offense whenever I put it in my N64. Why? Choppy Animation, Dumb Control Scheme, idiotic AI, a heinous replay system, and numerous bugs and glitches. I remember when I was 7 and got this game. My brother and I used to play it a few times (why we did I don't know). We revisited the game, and my brother said it was "the worst game ever made," and he's got good reason. While this isn't the worst game ever, it really is HORRIBLE.

After sitting through a 6 SECOND LOADING SCREEN (what the hell), you are treated to the intro of the game. The intro is the highlight of the game, with Brett Favre in a computer room watching highlights. These cutscenes look fantastic, and a awesome kickass rock theme backs it up. I got pretty pumped and hoped this would be a great game. Then, I heard the title music, which is about the WORST THEME EVER!! It doesn't even fit the game! I noticed the game supports 4 players, but I don't know why you would want to do that. Anyways, I picked my hometown Cleveland Browns, and I start the game. One thing I like is that the weather varies, which makes it fun to see what weather you play in. But that's about it.

On the opening kickoff, I discovered the choppiest animation in existence (or at least of the N64). The players look good and are well rendered, but the animation is horrendous. When running it's hard to tell what's going on (this game uses the EXPANSION PAK?!), and it usually ends in me getting tackled.

But the choppy animation is only the beginning of this game's many flaws. The passing game is ruined by a terrible control scheme. It took me a while to figure out the control scheme (I didn't have a manual), but here it is. Hold the Z button and press c-up, c-left, c-right, or c-down to throw a pass. Why couldn't it have just been the A button? I understand you use the control scheme to throw to one of four recievers, but the A button would've been better instead of the Z button. But that's not it. When you throw the ball, it ends up being incomplete ALL OF THE TIME!! You're supposed to press the A BUTTON WHEN YOU'RE ABOUT TO CATCH IT!! WHAT WAS ACCLAIM THINKING?! As if the control scheme wasn't bad enough, they pull a stunt like that.

I was forced to run as a result. The running game is okay, but it is pretty uneven. Sometimes I could score touchdowns with ease, but other times I was tackled a lot.

Finally, the glitches are a mess. In one kick return, my linemen were blocking defenders OUT OF BOUNDS!! Here's another one; On a fourth down on the goal line, I fumbled a ball, and then picked it back up, almost in the end zone, only to have the ref say TURNOVER ON DOWNS! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I GOT THE BALL, THAT SHOULD BE MY BALL! Oh but get this, the Ai is so bad, defenders end up tackling the wrong guy, or tackle in the wrong direction. The instant replay feature is good, but it reveals horribly choppy players that seem to move left and right without smooth animation. My brother and I had a great time making fun of the animations in this game.

In general, NFL Quarterback Club 2000 is quite possibly the worst football game ever made. I wanted to give this game an F-, but I felt that an F was the best choice. I tried with all my power to like NFL Quarterback Club 2000, but it's a mess from top to bottom. Even when critics gave it mediocre reviews, it was still OVERRATED in my opinion. The fact that NFL Quarterback Club 99 looks better than this game is just WRONG.
