One of the coolest things about Blitz is the opportunity to hit opponents after the play. You’ll see more than just tackles, too, like body slamming, leg dropping, and plenty of trash talking! And, best of all, with no penalties!
The playbooks are pretty standard, nothing exciting there. But the tempo is sometimes ridiculous! Add in the Turbo button, and the play will be over in the blink of an eye. The players have some nice moves, with jukes, hurdles, and dives. They’re very physical, but of course they are football players.
At the match up screen before every game, 3 boxes appear below each team, allowing for codes to be entered by pressing certain buttons and getting icons; this almost looks like a slot machine. But the codes give bonuses like Infinite Turbo, Super Pass, night game, rain. Some codes change the score, like having field goals worth 10 points, or the 2-point conversion another 7 points!
This is an over-the-top game that hits everyone. Blitz rocks! * * *
