For my full thoughts on Blitz, you can check my review. But, as far as this topic goes: I would love to see them take Blitz and move it forward with a new release at some point. Do things like take away all the stupid flaws (catchup AI etc.) and move us into some new directions. Bring me character/team creation, some sort of Dynasty or Franchise mode, do some things to take this game beyond nostalgia. As it stands, the game is good for a nostalgia fix and not much more, but at the core there is something there that could be greatly improved.

This was a really good video. I think that you two are completely right. They're fun now, but don't have a future without some sort of innovation.

I'm happier just playing Blitz and NBA Hangtime on my N64. There's additional nostalgia seeing the old rosters and teams. The Charlotte Hornets will always exist lol

What we really need is an updated Cyberball game. Robots playing football with a ball that explodes if a touchdown isn't scored soon enough is awesome.

@MJ12-Conspiracy, Good call. I could see EA going for a new Mutant League Football next year instead of a Blitz update. At least, I hope that's what they do.

I liked NBA Jam 15 years ago when it first came out...mainly because at the time I knew like 5 people who were all into the game and I had played the arcade version so I wasn't an idiot when they asked if I wanted to play, we had tons of fun on the Genesis but then I moved away, lost touch with my old friends and never really got into the game ever again. Most of my friends now are all into everything but sports games, I think if someone made something futuristic again or something like Mutant League Football some of us might be interested.

Thumbs up. I miss 'The Bigs' baseball series. Fun departure from the traditional MLB games. The old MVP baseball games had an arcade-like home run derby mode (living room, construction zone). Would like to see more of that again.

For us older gamers, it's the FUN factor and nostalgia of it all. Could just be my opinion. The perfect mix of realism and over the top action = two of the best 'sports' titles ever released. Why mess that up?
