weapons well-balanced, nice graphics, it's free. What else do you need?

Very nice graphics, but you must have a powerful computer to put all the options on. It runs very slowly on my pc and it's strange (I can manage Oblivion).
On some PC configurations there is a little lag in the mouse movement, but I think it's just an installation problem (over the old client).
The gameplay it's very funny, you are able to make some impressive kill (like the old Quake I). It's free, it's fun. With the 2.0 client you can also play a campaign (a sort of singleplayer mode).
Maps are studied very well, with the jumps and the nice tricks you've seen in the first three Quake. But they are often very dark. In some maps it's very hard even to see the enemy. I had to push up the gamma factor very much. But It's not something new (all the latest games are very dark, excepted SeriousSam, I don't know why).
Anyway, I'll play it a little more :D
