Latest in multi-million-selling fitness series launching on Xbox 360, Wii U, and Wii this October, with Xbox One launch to follow.
Majesco today announced the latest installment in its multi-million-selling Zumba Fitness series. Zumba Fitness World Party will launch in October for Xbox 360, Wii U, and Wii, with a release "later this year" for Xbox One. No mention was made of a release for PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4.
Zumba Fitness World Party takes players across the world to seven "exotic" destinations where they will take part in the music-inspired workout system. The first confirmed location is Brazil.
The game features 40 new songs, including music from high-profile artists like Lady Gaga, Pitbull, and Daddy Yankee, as well as "eclectic tracks" from regional musicians. Zumba Fitness World Party also boasts more than 30 cultural dance styles, including new additions like Blues, Capoeira, and Girly Funk.
As part of a special promotion, Majesco will release a new trailer for Zumba Fitness World Party every month revealing the next in-game location. Gamers can collect codes associated with teach destination and trade in their "Passport to Party" at launch for an unspecified discount on the game.
The most recent Zumba Fitness game from Majesco was Zumba Fitness Core, which launched last year on Xbox 360 and Wii. The entire franchise, which launched in 2010, has sold more than 6 million copies to date.
On top of Zumba Fitness World Party, Majesco also announced Zumba Dance today, a motion-based fitness game for tablets. The application, which tracks calorie burn, is expected to launch this summer.
"The World Party game has always been a dream for us," said Zumba Fitness CMO Jeffrey Perlman in a statement. "Zumba blurs the lines between fitness, entertainment and culture. As such, we wanted to create a game that explored different dance cultures from around the world. World Party unites the player with the global community of dance through an interactive experience that delivers both physical and emotional benefits."

Right! MS should not only ignore this market, but they should tell Majesco they can't put their game on X1 because ignoring profitable markets always leads to better core gaming!
X1 bashing would go better if people at least pretended to have SOME common sense and bash where the bashing is deserved...like on the DDR3, the messaging incompetence, and failing on Indy support.
M$ is trying to get its hook into all demographics instead of focusing on one which in my opinion will be the downfall of this console if not for their agenda alone...
I excercise religiously without the use of gimmick games. That said some sports gamed for the ps move were kind of fun, I wouldn't be caught dead with this thing though.
Just what xBox Done needed to clean some of the stupidity MS did on the past weeks! NOW we can say that the "BOX" is not only a TV BOX, but a "console" to play amazing games like this one!!!! YAY! A real system for gamers!
So that's their plan.. having access to always on cameras of girls working out in their own homes. They'll just get those biometric readings to weed out the unattractive ones or any deluded guys.
An exercise game on a console for people too lazy to push buttons on their remotes. At least the voice commands mean their mouths can't be constantly stuffed with food.
I could do freehand exercises like push ups and sit ups every morning and it wouldn't cost me a damn thing. And it's far more effective than this Zimbo gimmick.
Ok so you basically know your game system is a gimmick when you start releasing "games" where you dance in front of your TV screen....or do anything in front of your TV screen besides sit on the couch and hold a controller.
@berserker66666 That's what I do. If I want to work out I head to the gym. If I want to play games I sit on my ass with a controller. A zumba game is just a gimmicky as any of those home workout gadgets and videos. I can't tell you how many times people told me how their tread mill is a great cloths hanger!!
