hmm... sounds very much like a skyrim lore. i think its probably a dlc that is coming out. if it is, i hope its as good as shivering isle dlc. god... that was a damn good dlc - and worth every damn penny!

In the TES universe, the 'Dawn Era' is the era where the world began....so may be a connection there in some way @GhoX, what does 'dawnguard' have to do with the aldmeri dominion in any way?

Seeing that "Dawnguard" is being trademarked as a downloadable computer game software, I will say it's either the Skyrim DLC or the next-gen title. @alpha_unit97 Not all of the above is being made by Bethesda. ZeniMax (Parent company) has ZeniMax Online making the MMO, Bethesda Game Studios making the two DLCs and the next-gen title.

Bethesda, how many things do you want to focus on at once??- 2 mmo's, 2 expansion packs and a next gen title, you guys must be going crazy..

My guess? A DLC, an expansion or a stand-alone expansion for Skyrim. The name suggests that it may have ties to the new Aldmeri Dominion.

Sounds to me like a potential name for the MMO if the rumours of it being set well before any of the main games are true.

@TrueGB, they need to secure a better deal next time. This is still a business, and a deal is a deal. What would the investors say when ZeniMax gave away money to Obsidian when they had no legal reason to do so? However ZeniMax should also be able to realize that Obsidian did fine work. Sure it was buggy, but the game sold really well and a vocal hardcore minority of the fanbase prefers it over FO3. There certainly is grounds to give Obsidian another project to work on. From Obsidian's side they simply shouldn't accept cash payment, instead they should ask for a X% of the profit. ZeniMax should be able to see this is still a good deal. This way the lesser TES provinces that lack scope, interest of the mainstream audience, cultural and natural diversity can still be turned into games. Obsidian has enough talent to even make the more repetitive provinces such as black marsh interesting.

@spckj: Since the game has a lot of Norse influence, you're probably right. In Norse mythology, Midgard = Earth, Asgard = Heaven

It's never as exciting for new DLC when all these people keep track of what's being patented. Ruins the surprise :/

As a massive TES fan I can only say "AWESOME!!!" I'm with everybody else on this one, make it an actual expansion like shivering isles & bloodmoon please.

I was hoping to see Obsidian do a New Vegas for the Elder Scrolls series, I was betting on Blackmarsh, but after that fiasco with the Metacritic score I highly doubt Obsidian will ever take on a project from Bethesda again.

@Warlord_Irochi I agree. I loved the Shivering Isles. I just hope it doesn't turn into something like Knights of the Nine, but I doubt that'll happen :)

I hope they sterilize the bugs in Dawnguard... I know too many Skyrim NPCs who return from the dead after a story line kills them off! :P :P :P NO LOLLYGAGGIN'

It pleases me to no end that Bethesda is still working on the Skyrim DLC instead of shoving down our throats day one. Excited for whatever this is!

@vadicta If they don't make a proper expansion for Skyrim it would be the first ES without one, so I would not be surprised. Would love something like "Shivering Isles" in the sense of a fair amounth of extra terrain and quests, not just some cheap dlc.
