Zelda 'surprise' planned for E3 2010

If the surprise is the ability to jump by pressing a button [minimising the risk of suicide...] i will cry with happiness! and lol culerthanu at your 'annoying fairy' - seriously, even i got sick of navi! I like people's ideas of bringing a time concept back to the series, that's always worked well. how cool would it be if link defeated the 'evil' as a child, grew up, thought everything was cool, and had to fight the evil again O.O. Excellent aticipation times!

I think many people know that the girl by Link IS the Master Sword. Notice Link is NOT wielding the Master Sword, and also the many similarities between the girl and the Master Sword.

The only thing I can think of for who the character could be next to link would be some sort of fairy. My reasons are because he/she strikes a resemblance to the queen of fairies, shown in Windwaker and because under the image there is the caption "hey, listen." Everyone who's played TLOZ:OOT should know the annoying fairy who says that.

Why would you ever want voice acting in a Zelda game? It would loose a lot of its charm. Apparently reading is just too difficult for some of you.

i liked a lot majoras, because there were a lot of sidequests, then you can either go on in the main history or just have fun with a short mission. i hope that the bosses where harder, and maybe less checkpoints, because when you die, you revive with the same but with 3 hearts, that will make the game harder. aaahhh almost forgot, in ocarina an majoras the thing of dealing with time make them much more interesting

I suppose the girl on the cover could be a incarnation of a sword, but not the master sword. That would mean she'd have been in pretty much every Zelda game ever. That would seem really weird. And did anyone else notice that the girl's head kinda looks like that of a Zora's?

voice acting is fine with me as long as link doesn't talk. He's almost never talked, and it should stay that way

I need to ask why people come onto this, just to trash the wii and nintendo? If you don't like the wii don't read up on it, if you don't like nintendo, don't read up on it... A lot of people are complaining about the lack of good games... this has only occured because third party game companies have ideas for use of the wii-mote. While some games are not widely appreciated, their is potential in the wii for hardcore, well crafted games. Now ps3 has its own motion control "move" in the works, 360 has project natal being developed... none of these products would be being developed if nintendo didn't go out on a limb and make a SUCCESSFUL console with motion controls. At least mocrosoft admits that Wii has won the console war. Where the wii's success actually saved the ps3 from complete defeat. Yet even when they admitted that, they still claimed the nintendo was a casual console... but wii's line-up for this year (zelda, metroid, mario, monster hunter, etc.) is going to make it recognised a lot more for hardcore gamers, where ps3's "move" and 360's "natal" will open their consoles for more casual games... the tables are about to turn this year.

Increased difficulty is a must... I played through twilight princess and had kept the same red fairy from the beginning of the game, don't get me wrong, tp's battles can be extremely epic, but too easy. I actually liked majoras masks formula and side quests, but what ruined the game for me was the lousy final boss battle. tp's was well crafted, but really easy. What I hope for is Difficulty selection at start of game, voice acting and zelda to have a bit more of an active role, rather than appear at the start and don't see her till the last boss battle. surprise.... what would really surprise me would either be co-op, or something that enhances the graphics.

......... Damn! I'm sick of waiting for the release date! I wish they would just tell us already! But yes, voice acting would be nice.

*ponders a Zelda game with 'moral choice system' where I could basically become Ganon*.... I don't know why, but I have a feeling that wouldn't work too well with a Zelda game. Maybe they'll prove me wrong.

@wopchop10 Moral choice system!? Seriously!? That's unoriginal, man. Really unoriginal. Go play a Bioware game if that's what you want. Voice acting would be nice, tough.

If they really wanted to make me happy with the next Zelda, they will make the game longer. They will add new weapons, new items, better boss fights, a new fighting system, maybe a jump button, awesome fighting animations, or something that builds on what they already have. I don't know, these are just ideas. I just would hate to see a Zelda turn into a fps game. I have never hated a Zelda game, so maybe I should be patient and see what they come up with.

FPS zelda! I would burn my wii if it happened.

@aryeec I think a lot of people thought that the person in the picture was like the master sword, i don't think that it was any one group

I'm one of the people who thought up the theory that the the blue figure in the picture is the master sword incarnate. Personally, I think that would be just the thing to jump-start the game. @Leotroy: I'm pretty sure they wouldn't forgo the sword completely. It would probably be similar to wolf-link in TP.

I have heard some rumors that Link might not have a sword in the game, and that the Master Sword would actually not be in the form of a sword; more of an actual person, as a character. I really really don't want that to happen... I think that Link should be kept the same, or at least the Master Sword to still be a sword. I cannot wait to have this game in my collection of Legend of Zelda games, I have them all. I'm really excited to see how well WiiMotion Plus will work with the Zelda game, since WiiMotion plus gives you more feeling towards motion-sensored games, I think that if WiiMotion Plus works well, most of all of the other Zelda fans will feel that they really are Link.

voice acting and a possible moral choice system? saving the princes is always fun and the adventure is always epic... but the hero of time should be able to have a choice in the matter

the surprise is tha link and master chief must join forces to fight the evil sonic and mario team who seam to control the wii may there blood run into lake hyrule

My biggest hope for this game is that they increase the difficulty dramatically. I want to play a game that puts up a challenge, one that I can (and am expected to) die in, one that actually will feel like an accomplishment when I beat it. Don't get me wrong, Zelda is, and always has been, my favorite series. I was born just before the original came out and have been playing them all my life, but the last couple installments have been far too easy. As a matter of fact I don't believe I ever even came close to dying in Twilight Princess at all. The original Zeldas were TOUGH. They provided a challenge. It would be nice to see this game return to those roots.

It better not be first person. it worked with metroid sure but zelda? no way. I'm actually kinda worried it will be because that would be the best way for the wii motion + to be used from that perspective.

I'm going to boycott the new Nintendo system simply because I feel ripped off by the Wii. I encourage others to do the same.

The suprise will be that you have to team up with Ganondolf to overcome the horror that is: Collecting chickens.

I'm glad they are changing the formula a little, all though last time they tried that we ended up with Wind Waker. It wasn't bad I liked the story but I was not fond of the graphics. So I was glad when they gave us TP. Hopefully it will be a different story with better graphics, so here is to hoping.

Hopefully he means gameplay changes. Add some harder foes (ones that can actually kill you instead of tickle you), orchestrated music, speach, better weapons and gameplay mechanics to use those weapons... i dunno, it needs something 'fun' added to it again.

I wonder if it'll be making Link be able to speak for the very first time ever?? That'd be a huge surprise for long time Zelda fans, right?? :D

I'm pleased they're thinking of trying something new. There's always the danger that it might not work, but the Zelda games (although consistently high quality) seem to be covering a lot of the same ground iteration after iteration, so a change will be welcome just for the variety.

I hope they bring back melodies from Ocarina of time. That had the best sound track ever.(at least in the zelda series) I hope the change isn't that there won't be a gannon, or zelda, or worse what I was reading in a magazine once to make Zelda a prince and Link a heroine. That wouldn't be cool.

Finally! Ever since beating Twilight Princess, I have eagerly been waiting for another Zelda Wii! P.S. To Deuce97X: Why would you want to use gamecube controllers? The Wii controls were top notch and much more fun to use than the gamecube ones.

I hope it will use GameCube controllers too.

Finally! The Wii gets a Zelda title worth the wait!

I have a few idea of the changes that could happen: the characters get voices this would be the biggest surprise, a new recurring antagonist appears, or one of my favoured ideas , a direct sequel to majora's mask thus completing the first zelda trilogy.

I still can't wait for it to come out, it would be nice if it was coming out earlier although delayed games tend to be better anyway.

Hmm maybe the girl on the poster is linked to the temple of time somehow and the master sword, maybe there's a big secret about that place that will be revealed in this game that will also reveal the master sword's origins.

Cant wait for this game!!! i hope they keep the same feel but come up with some new twists and turns that will keep it fun. i really hope they dont do first person, it would ruin the zelda feel.

@HonorOfGod I agree with you about the music, I mean, I liked the music in Twilight Princess, but it needs to be much better. Something on par with the quality of ZREO would be good.

I have been hearing peoples thoughts on the next Zelda and the makers and these are the things that seem to be brought up the most. Music: people want better cuality music in zelda games. and i am not sure exacly why but im guesing it stil sounds alot like OOT, not a bad thing but compared to Final Fantasy wich has come a long ways with its music, its a big deal. Concept/Story: we cant just keep rescuing the princess all the time.. isnt there enything eals baddys want nowadays? ^^ you bet there is!! Voice Acting: speak up link we cant hear you... you or enyne eals in hyrule. hmm i ran out =/ i gues thats it? gues so. I cant wait for this game!!!!! but plz take your time making it Nintendo..just dont wait til the next N system lol.
