@Raxyman i understand, but if you don't want to buy it again, Yakuza 3 has a complete recap of the previous ones so you understand everything. Oh and i just found this new avatar and loved it haah. It's Finn from Adventure Time (no i'm not a child, this cartoon is really awesome).
PS3-exclusive Yakuza: Of The End to hit North America and Europe as Yakuza: Dead Souls next year; localization to feature downloadable content, new Pachislot minigame.
Japanese gamers have already had to deal with Tokyo's zombie-infestation problems in Yakuza: Of The End, and now Western gamers will get a chance with Sega announcing it will bring the game to the West as Yakuza: Dead Souls in March 2012.
The Western release won't be a straight port of its Japanese counterpart. Beyond the original campaign from the Japanese version, Sega is bringing over all of the Japanese game's downloadable content and adding an all-new Pachislot minigame.
The Yakuza franchise has traditionally kept its foot firmly planted in the realm of reality, but Dead Souls is set to change all of that. Series regular, Kazuma Kiryu, is joined by three new playable characters as he faces hordes of undead, mutants, and the ever-present seedy Japanese underworld in the streets of Tokyo's red light district.
Another first for the franchise comes in the newly expanded combat system. Players will still be throwing punches and kicks in classic fashion, but guns play a much bigger role in zombie-filled Tokyo. Sega touts the inclusion of pistols, machine guns, and rocket launchers, which it teases could be handy in case something "even more terrifying than the zombies" happens to show up.

@kazumashadow It's as i said, i would, but i'm trying to find someplace to buy Yakuza 2 because i wanted to know how that one ends before starting the sequel. I'm one of those that need to have played the prequels before buying a game XD. PS: Sudden change of avatar o.O
@Raxyman there is no special motive, is just that he's cool, and at sometimes Kazuma trusts him in a way that makes you like him even more. I suggest buying Yakuza 3 if you own a PS3, great game.
@kazumashadow Majima was cool and all, but i don't see why people liked him so much. Keep in mind to DON'T SPOIL to me, i've played yakuza 1 twice and my Yakuza 2 started malfuctioning halfway D: So i haven't played Yakuza ever since....
Oh another zombie game, how original. But seeing this is a Yakuza game I have no right to complain.
I'll only get this if it's on PS VIta, I own enough Zombie games on console. I want a portable zombie game.
@Raxyman well that changes stuff, but still i don't think it's the best choice, and the use of guns is other thing that i didn't like, doesn't fit Kazuma. At least we get to play as Majima, one of the best characters in the series.
@Codebreaker-X At least read the articale before you post. It's called Dead Souls, not Dark Souls. And there alraedy is a game with that name, it's Bleach: Dark Souls. No class-action lawsuit around here.
Pass. The Yakuza series has consistently featured some of the best storytelling in gaming, but zombies? C'mon, the reality is what made this series so great.
How does a soul die? :V Well it looks fun to find out. I'll have to consider this title when it launches. I've wanted a Zombie GTA for a while now, maybe this will live up to it.
To be honest I reckon this will be a blast to play. The Yakuza games themselves are brilliant to play, and knowing how huge and in-depth the usual games are I'm sure Sega won't water it down for the zombies. From everything I've seen it looks pretty decent. I'll just wait until it's released and see for myself :) @ChromeGrill212 Pretty sure I saw footage of hand-to-hand combat? Using the old bicycles etc :P
i love playing the Yakuza series, but this game is so retarded and disappointing. i cant believe that they release a Yakuza game with zombies. And to make things worse i even heard that the Martial Arts melee combat will be completely gone from this game. Man if i wanted to play a game where i shoot zombies with guns then i would rather play Dead Space 2 or Left4Dead 2. This game will be a very big disappointment but the good news is that Yakuza 5 will release pretty soon. I cant wait for Yakuza 5 to show up with another awesome crime story of the Japanese criminal underworld. So screw this whole idea of Yakuza gangsters and zombies being crossed together on the same game. Thats just my personal opinion.
this is officially the death of an amazing franchise called YAKUZA ...........seriously ??? zombies ??? why ?? why ? why ?? why do this SEGA ??? YAKUZA was so great ,,,why ruin it with zombies ??
Got the demo from the Japanese store some time ago; absolutely nothing groundbreaking... but was really fun and enjoyable. This is good news, for me at least. @svaubel Thats trends being trends I guess... ^^;
Sega's taking a risk by changing the name of the game to include "Dark Souls". Namco has a game out by the same title. Couldn't this lead to another dispute similar to The Elder Scrolls vs Minecraft Scrolls?
just giving every1 a heads up the controls are very different bit hard to get use to but once u do this game is awesome and people shouldnt be complaining we missed out on the other yakuza game ryu ga gotuka something well i cant remember ur like a samurai in kyoto it is realy cool we are unlucky to miss out on it
Awesome Sega. The game might be not as great as main titles but thank you for localizing this. Unlike some certain companies who doesn't give a **** to their fan base.
@kazumashadow If they keep it loyal to the japanese version it's just a paralel universe. Somewhat like Deadrising off the record. An "what if" situation. Otherwise yeah, they're going to do a huge mistake.
oh man, im definitely gonna pick this up. Majima, Kiryu, and Akiyama together slayin zombies? i wonder how the combat is though, considering all enemies are undead.
At first when I read the title I was like "WTF ARE YOU FOR REAL!?" But now I bring it on! Love Yakuza series and love zombie themes but never would put the two together.
As a fan of the survival horror genre AND zombies, I know what the zombie craze is all about: badassery.
W0000T!! :P ....and 'YES' I'm geniunely THAT psyched!! Can't wait! This might be the one time I actually get into killing some zombies, lol. It's like I get to live out playing my own little campy J-Horror flick.
The Yakuza series is one of the few reasons left to own a console. While I would love a PC port, I'd mainly want it for convenience; I don't think this game would benefit significantly from porting.
I did not see this coming, this is enough to lower my respect to the series, and i'm a great fan (just look at my avatar). This may be a try to hit a larger public, but Yakuza was awesome already.
that's cool, psn needs all the exclusive dlc it can get, but i don't own this game... YET is it bad that the promise of zombie content will make me buy a game?!
I would rather have the samuri yakuza game featuring Musashi as Kiryu Kazuma than another zombie game.
this time they kill yakuza Dead on arrival no thanks , ... for me Resident evil , dead space and Alan Wake ... much better not yakuza please ??? Sega is Dead .... miss dreamcast Era
I love how Zombies have officially become a cash in, all kinds of Zombie games out there and alot of games adopting Zombie DLC, its getting a little old though, for real.
Just because it has zombies in it does not make this a Zombie game, yes the game is full of them, but i'm 50 hours in so far and it feels like a Ryu ga gotoku game not a crappy zombie one.But please change the name back to of the end and stop trying to cash in on Demons/Dark Souls name.
crap i just got the game n started playing :( ah well i guess the up side is my october is hot the games kick ass so to all who are waiting to get it its a must buy for Yakuza fans
