As part of its stellar second-quarter earnings report yesterday, Take-Two offered a brief glimpse at its plans for the 2010 Electronic Entertainment Expo, which kicks off next week. Though the publisher does not expect to have anything on hand from its acclaimed Rockstar subsidiary, Take-Two did say it would be showing off a number of games recently announced by its 2K Games label, including 2K Marin's XCOM.

Today, the publisher offered a more comprehensive look at its E3 lineup, and along with it, Take-Two attached a broad release window for the aforementioned XCOM. Previously lacking any form of release plans, the publisher said today that XCOM is now expected to arrive for the Xbox 360 and PC in 2011.

Billed as a "reimagining" of the revered turn-based strategy franchise that began with Culture Brain's 1993 hit, 2K Marin's XCOM transitions the series to the first-person shooter genre. Though details are still slim, players will take the role of an FBI agent whose job is to identify and eliminate an unknown extraterrestrial threat.

Mafia II, which will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on August 24, will also be on hand at this year's show. The publisher's E3 lineup also includes Firaxis' Civilization V and Yager's Spec Ops: The Line, as well as 2K Sports titles NBA 2K11 and NHL 2K11.

One title not party to Take-Two's E3 lineup is Rockstar Vancouver's Max Payne 3. Yesterday, the publisher said that Max Payne 3 had been pushed out of its current fiscal year, which ends October 31. Notably, as part of a post-earnings conference call, an executive would not commit to releasing the shooter during Take-Two's following fiscal year, either.
