Xbox Live Update: Mass Effect 2 Arrival DLC
New wares for Microsoft's online platform include latest Commander Shepard pack; XBLA adds Rush 'N Attack, Islands of Wakfu, Seisou Kouki Strania tomorrow; Games on Demand welcomes Split/Second and HAWX 2.
Microsoft's Xbox Live online platform was struck with a bevy of new content today, ranging from the latest add-on pack for Mass Effect 2 to the Games on Demand release of Disney's latest racing game.
Leading the charge this week is the Arrival (560 MS points, or $7) content for BioWare's lauded Mass Effect 2. Arrival sees Commander Shepard investigating clues to an impending Reaper invasion on the edge of the galaxy. The downloadable content will also see the return of actor Lance Henriksen (Aliens, Stone Cold) lending his voice to Admiral Hackett.
Being released tomorrow on the Xbox Live Arcade will be three new titles, the first of which is Rush 'N Attack Ex Patriot (800 MS points, or $10). In the game, players will control a lone soldier sent into Russia to find a missing ally, equipped with nothing more than a knife. As in the original, different weapons can be picked up from dispatched enemies, but the game will also include a stealth mechanic to mix up the old formula.
The other two games pegged to debut tomorrow are Ankama's genre-blending fantasy game Islands of Wakfu (800 MS points, or $10) and G.Rev's latest top-down shoot-'em-up Seisou Kouki Strania (800 MS points, or $10).
Switching to the Games on Demand hub, Microsoft added three new games to the download spot today, the first of which is Disney's racer Split/Second ($30). The other two new full-game downloads out now are CSI: Deadly Intent ($40) and Tom Clancy's HAWX 2 ($30).
