Xbox Live confirmed for Worms Forts: Under Siege!
Sega Europe confirms that the Xbox version of Team 17's Worms Forts: Under Siege! will support online play. New screens inside.
Sega Europe has today confirmed that the Xbox version of Worms Forts: Under Siege! will support online play for up to four players via Xbox Live. The game will be the first in Team 17's long-running series to feature online play via Xbox Live in Europe, although in North America online play is a feature of the soon-to-be-released Xbox version of Worms 3D.
"Part of what makes Worms the ideal party game has been the addictive multiplayer experience the series has offered," said Matthew Woodley, European marketing director at Sega Europe. "Worms Forts: Under Siege! on Xbox Live will be no exception to this."
In Worms Forts: Under Siege!, which is also in development for the PC and PlayStation 2, players will have to prepare and defend their own garrisons while at the same time launching an assault on the enemy. The game will boast more than 30 bizarre weapons, including a homing-pigeon launcher and the deadly sounding 50-stone canary.
All three versions of Worms Forts: Under Siege! are currently scheduled for release in North America and Europe toward the end of this year. We'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available.
