Xbox 360 scores $6.7 billion in 2011 - NPD

Microsoft has sold more than Sony, but I'm willing to bet that Sony has more working consoles out there. I just bought my 4th (yes, FOURTH!), XBox 360 due to yet another failure (even repaired 2 of 'em myself to have them fail again). I so picked the wrong console this generation to use for my primary gaming console. :(

@warhawk-geeby Yeah, I hear you. I would love for Xbox live to be free. The PSN is a good service. I've had Xbox Live Gold since the days of the initial Xbox, so I've come accustomed to it. I think if I had the PS3 first and using PSN along with it for a good duration, then later purchased a 360, I might not be too fond of paying for online. I guess I got used to it and spoiled with the service. PSN = good service. Xbox LIve = great service

@godzillavskong Well I can't comment on Madden.. I have FIFA but that seems to do the same thing. It updates you in-game with a little message box telling you what your friends scores are, but then that's not something which Sony/Microsoft have control of, that's just how EA made the game. As for your comment regarding the messages received yes, I'll give you that. The PS3 does require you to access the XMB which is all kinds of annoying, whereas the process for the 360 is much more user friendly. Community-wise Microsoft nailed it on the head. The only thing I'm referring to is the fact you need to pay to play online, both systems essentially do the exact same job yet Microsoft charge for it? That's my only gripe. Basically you buy a console which is half useable, if you want to play with friends you need to pay money. It's disgusting.

@thebeachguy90 If it tells you anything, Hideo Kojima is making games for 360... He was not a PS3 endorser. Gamespot ran something a few years ago about him not happy with the PS3 and he him self wanted to make games for 360 but he could not do anything unit the deal with Sony was up. The time is up and he can make games for who ever he wants.

@BryanParksSuper.. Here are some facts. I have no idea how old you are but odds are you are just a teen. Sony for years payed out dev's to keep games only on PS brand. They did it with PS1 and still do it to this day. In fact Naughty Dog was gonna start to make games for 360 until Sony acquired them. Now they are owned by Sony and a first party studio. @Hig1134 You better look at the numbers because 360 is out selling the PS3 2-1. @PeterDuck. The PS3's GPU was out dated by the 360 before the PS3 was out. It's cell CPU is late 90's cell that was started by MS and IBM. MS droped out after they started to see intel and AMD moving up in speed. The PS3 has more power in CPU but the 360 has in in the GPU. Fact is kids. You guys are having a toy war and it is stupid. Both systems are good and do what they need to do. Also for you who thinks numbers are no big deal. Numbers a very big deal to any one who makes something and is selling it. Also this, xbox was out first and that is why they have more units in home comments are stupid. The wii and PS3 came out days apart and the wii walked over the 360 and PS3.. Now what?

@warhawk-geeby I have both the 360 and PS3, and I have to say there is a difference between the 2 as far as online experience, for me anyways. While some of the differences may be minor, I much prefer to play online on my 360. I used to play Madden 11 on my 360, but when Madden 12 came out I decided to get it on the PS3, and one of the unique things I liked about Madden on xbox was the fact that you could view one of your friends who was gaming online in Madden, and actually see what the score was, and also what QTR. That doesn't show up on the PS3. I know it's very minor, but it is something that I preferred. It also is a nightmare pulling up your dashboard on the PS3 and sending a message while in a game! My 360 dashboard pulls up and navigates very easily, within half the time it takes me to on my PS3. I've tried numerous times to send a message while I was in a game of Madden, and it's like the PS3 is having a hard time running both tasks, and stutters tremendously. My 360 goes through it rather smooth. Friend invites and messages are far more noticeable on the 360. I rarely even notice I have a message or a invite on my PS3. Is there a way to change that?

I play both the 360 and the PS3 and I can more than vouch there's no difference in the online play between the two. Both systems online play are brilliant, but how Microsoft can justify charging for the same service is beyond me. The 360 doesn't even have an internet browser :? Nobody cares bout Xbox 360 GS. It wasent the best console sold. Don't ya notice that Sony doesn't care bout Sales. They know there PS3 is strong. I had 2 refurbished 360 sent to me by MS. They bricked within 3 months apart. Xbox sucks and all Xbots can't see it. It's quite sad how Xbots cont to support MS after suffering numerous RROD's. Sony has great customer support MS doesn't.

Much like xbox support, who carelessly sent me "refurbished" systems that brick within a month, if not bricked out of the box.
