They need to do a $50 price cut on all the non-bundle systems. This bundle doesn't interest me for 3 reasons. 1) I already own both Fable 3 and Halo Reach. 2) I already own 2 XBox 360. 3) I've already pre-ordered the Star Wars 320GB XBox 360 bundle. Microsoft needs to do a price cut before Black Friday. The bundles are nice, but it's not going to say them this holiday. A price would definitely make a difference.
Microsoft announces new 250GB holiday bundles; $299 option includes Halo: Reach and Fable III; $399 version bundles Kinect, Kinect Adventures, and Carnival Games: Monkey See Monkey Do.
While Microsoft has yet to announce any new console hardware on the horizon, it is continually reshuffling its Xbox 360 configurations in stores. In what has become an annual holiday tradition, the company is releasing new hardware bundles packed in with extra games.
Director of Xbox Live programming Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb today announced the details of these bundles via his blog. Coming in at $399, the pricier bundle includes a 250GB Xbox 360 console, a Kinect sensor, and two Kinect-only titles: Kinect Adventures and Carnival Games: Monkey See Monkey Do. The $299 option offers a 250 GB Xbox 360 console and two first-party games: Fable III and Halo: Reach. Both bundles also include a three-month Xbox Live Gold subscription card.
The bundles offer more value than their existing counterparts, as the current $399 250GB bundle only includes Kinect Adventures, while the $299 offering has no packed-in game. Microsoft offered a 250GB holiday bundle last year that included copies of Forza 3 and Alan Wake.
These bundles are shipping to retailers today and will be available while supplies last through the holiday period.
@DarthVeng_basic yeah i agree... here in the Philippines you can get a 2nd hand mint condition xbox for $200 (used for only like 1-3 months) with all intact even the free XBLive card... so why bother to buy a new one if you can get less the $50 and with the money you save can buy you a much good game
So one Disc based copy and 1 Downloadable version. Well at least they include a 3 month subscription to XBLA. So thats kinda of good, For the Fable 3 and Halo Reach they could have thrown in an extra controller. Microsoft would do well to get rid of the 4GB flash memory enabled SKU. It is 2011. Xbox 360 is now more affordable than way back in 2005. or Microsoft could increase the flash memory to 9GB when the Wii U launches next year and drop the price of the Flash memory enabled lower end SKU. and make Nintendo look bad next Christmas 2012?
Those are some limp, disappointing bundles... And Fable III and Halo: Reach are downloads only? First of all, that's frickin' bogus, because that means, assuming this is your first XBox, instead of getting to open and play, you're going to spend God only knows how long downloading your "packed in" games. Gee, thanks Microsoft. Second, if the games are just downloads anyway, why give the consumer some options? It should have been just two download coupons redeemable for a wider selection of games. Even though it was more expensive (by $100), I think the Gears of War 3 bundle was a vastly better deal.
@gamerxxx89 "In your post not a discernible piece of linear thought." Put some effort in if you want to make a point...
Already have fable 3 and Played halo reach; what I don't like about this deal is the games are download only, so if you wanted to upgrade but didn't want the games you can't even trade them in for a game you might like. Also what about the people who don't have Internet, although I have the service I know plenty of people who don't.
Fable 3 and Halo Reach are both about a year old. By offering games that old, they must only be trying to get virgin users. Sounds like a mistake to me. They ought to be concentrating on getting the Star Wars Edition out.
For the $299 bundle, they should remove the games and have it for $200. Alot of people could afford that. And, some people would like to upgrade to the new X360 model and don't need the games. ( I already have Halo Reach)
Fable 3 was a gigantic let down for me... It was funny, and that's it. The combat is rather... tedious and boring, just like this post.
These are decent, but I need a bigger HD option. My 250 has been full for months. Having to split things between systems now, which is a pain. Microsoft needs to give us a 500GB option whether through a new system or a simple HD upgrade.
Well..... It's about time I bought a 360, but I don't think this has the value I want. Sorry Microsoft, $50 less would have sold me.
this a sweet deal for xbox newbies,so go get it personally i just want a price cut on the console games i will get ma self
Now might be the time to upgrade and get one of these newer, more quite consoles. Mine is 3 years old, and although it's working fine, I only have about 25gb left on my 120gb hard drive. I will decide between one of these standard 250gb bundles, without Kinect, since I already own the Kinect, or grab the Star Wars bundle. I was real close to getting the Gears limited edition console, but I think I'll hold out for the Star Wars, which looks the best in my opinion.
I hope to see these bundles coming to Brazil... Microsoft started to sell "Brazilian" Xboxes, but only the Kinect ones come with some game... before, when they used to sell imported consoles, there were bundles with Alan Wake and Forza 3, and with Project Gotham Racing.
This has to be online pricing, no one sells a console that cheap in Australia. I looked at EB Games and Game, paying a lot more there.
I've got no interest in the Kinect bundle and I already own Halo: Reach and Fable III. How about a Skyrim and Dark Souls bundle? (Yeah, I know that flying pigs in a frozen hell are more likely to happen than this but a man can dream, right?)
Don't bother Microsoft is going to price cut next month because its going to be the ten year anniversary of Xbox and Halo so just wait if you are thinking of spending money.
This is not a bad deal, you guys that have yet to upgrade to the slim version, now is a good time:P I did not get into the next gen consoles until the slim so I really cannot say too much against the previous systems, but I can say I have really enjoyed my slim and it has a very cool look to it as well.
3 month subscription to XBL? Shouldve been at least a year. Also i like disc copies rather than voucher codes to download games. Voucher codes = NO BUY, disc copies or GTFO.
$299 option sounds a lot better. I dont have a Xbox so HALO and Fable sound a lot better then a kinect.
Ironically, the cheaper bundle comes with the much better games. Fable III is pretty good, but Halo: Reach is a must-have.
I'm surprised there are so many people who would prefer a disc copy of Halo: Reach. I have the downloaded versions of Alan Wake and Halo: Reach and love that I don't have to swap discs out to play those games. Suppose if you would like to sell Reach then you would be disappointed, but that game isn't even worth anything anymore, is it? *Alright, guess this isn't a popular opinion* :)
decent deal i dont really care that its a download code 1 sick fps and a mediocre rpg that does have a lovely british humour
Look at those two games growing up together. Weren't Halo 3 ODST and Fable 2 bundled together as well?
I think I'd rather have one of the new holiday releases packed in than two older games. Then again I'd rather have a good sale like $200 for the basic 250GB 360 and buy the games I want later.
Wow... smokin' deal. Reminds me to fire up Reach again one of these days. Last time I played, there were some new Firefight modes/mods I'd never seen before. Was pretty fun.
hmm...... not a bad deal maybe i'll go for it. but not bad but why a downloadable voucher for Halo Reach o_O
Replace Fable 3 with another game and include the actual game disc for Halo Reach instead of a download code.
Hmm...I could really use a new 360. My old beige deck doesn't even play cd's anymore...time for an upgrade, methinks!
