WWF Betrayal ships
THQ sends its unique WWF-based action-adventure game to stores.
THQ has announced that it has shipped WWF Betrayal for the Nintendo Game Boy Color. In the game, players control one of four WWF Superstars in an effort to rescue the kidnapped Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley. The gameplay is pure beat-'em-up, but naturally the WWF wrestlers all have their own finishing moves.
"WWF Betrayal brings an entirely new element to World Wrestling Federation handheld video games," said Peter Dille, vice president of marketing for THQ. "This newest World Wrestling Federation action-adventure blends suspense and intrigue with wrestling mayhem."
THQ has also announced WWF games for the Microsoft Xbox, the Sony PlayStation 2, and the Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance. However, those games are in the standard wrestling genre.
