I think the wrestling games should be like the Nintendo 64,with the same royal rumble style but as the superstars run down to the ring it could be displayed on one of the screens while the action on the other screen doesn't stop
THQ confirms plans to bring wrestling franchise to Nintendo's systems, reaffirms first PS3 installment in series is on the way.
Traditionally, THQ hasn't been shy about spreading its WWE-licensed games around to different platforms. The company has made games based on the professional wrestling company's in-ring offerings for the PlayStation 2, the N-Gage, and everything in between.
However, 2006 was a fairly light year for the company's WWE license because its only major offering was WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2007 for the PS2, PlayStation Portable, and Xbox 360. A PlayStation 3 version had been announced but was later canceled because THQ said the series would debut on Sony's next-generation system in late '07.
The PS3 isn't the only system looking forward to its first WWE game because THQ confirmed plans to step into the ring on the Wii and DS. In an investor conference call, the publisher said it would be releasing WWE products on Nintendo's latest systems sometime in its next fiscal year, which runs from April 2007 through March 2008.
There was no indication if the Nintendo games would fall under the SmackDown! vs. RAW banner, or if they would be separate series, as was done with WWE titles on the GameCube and Game Boy Advance.
I'm afraid to say that Nintendo is...full of crap. Smackdown! will be terrible on the DS and Wii, you'll waste ya money.
that would be cool if you could draw weapons for your character on DS...i like the wii...but the game will prolly suck with its controller set up.
Hopefully the Wii version will play just as well as the PS2 versions have. I'm still haunted by the GameCube versions of WretleMainia...
Improve some of the matches, reuse the Day of Reckoning control scheme, improvise some major additions to the CAW section cause the limitations is unbelievable. All that is needed and this game would be good for Wii.
As I said before what is this doing in the PSP part of the site GAMESPOT!? Get it off! people come to this part of the site to read PSP news not News about it's competitors! SHEESH GET WITH THE PROGRAM!
This is great nintendo is dominating once more...can't wait for metroid, smash bros and mario galaxy...do it! Nintendo...do it now!
Better be like the N64 versions, NO Mercy, Wrestlemania 2000, wCw/nWo: World and the Virtual Pro Wrestling games.
I think it shouldn't come out on the DS it'll be a waste of money but on the Wii I think it'll be a big hit just one thing, don't make it under Smackdown vs. Raw series because I just don't think it'll be as good on the Wii as on the other systems. Although if they continued their Day of Reckoning series then that'd be good but that series needs some major improvement caused it kinda just flat out sucked.
Its about time they started developing for nintendos system. There wasnt even one for the Gamecube or the Wii for 2006 so its good to actually hear from the company because I was about to loose hope.
"The Wii is getting more and more 3rd party support." In a way yes and in a way no. EVERY console last gen had a series of WWE titles. THQ isn't showing any favorites AS OF YET, but instead is just continuing to bring the WWE to each console. What intrigues me is how they will use the motion sensor capabilities of the Wii.
its a waist of time for SvRo7 to release on ps3..its probably going to be exactly the same as on the ps3..
Ugh, guys, THQ is 'NOT' releasing SvR2007 on the Ps3 (the Ps3 can already run Ps2's version of SvR2007). SvR2008 will be debuting on Ps3, Xbox360 and PSP. Ps2 version is also a possibility.
SD vs Raw 07 on the PS3. What a joke. They should have just released SD vs RAW 08 on it instead. Its crap like this that makes me not willing to fork over $600 plus bucks for it. WASTE OF TIME, and MONEY. Anyways thats cool the Wii is getting it. Its a great game and with its sales it deserves it!!!
whats the point of releasing wwe 2007 on the ps3 sometime in the late 2007 when a new version of wwe always comes out like in november...
THQ...if you screw this up...I will slit your freakin' throats...................uh.......I mean.....please....make this good....please.....sirs.....
I'm going to treat this the same way I treat airplane trips: hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
Freakin' FINALLY! Now let's hope the DS game doesn't bring the suck like all the GB ones did. (Not to even mention early GB and Gamegear efforts by Acclaim.)
Let's see what they will come up with...i hope it will look awsome...like the PSP and PS2 versions :D !
