World of Warcraft movie gets Moon director onboard

I don't have anything against WoW at all.....This just doesn't seem like a good idea. Eh, maybe I'll be surprised.

IS it possible to make a great movie from Warcraft universe, yes....but its got to stay dark IMO. The origional Story of Arthas was good enough to be a movie. No, im not saying it should be THIS movie, just the story in WC3 RC and FT was fantastic. Keep to this kind of storyline and itll be a hit, Stick to the WoW universe, and it will be a bust. JMHO

I never thought I'd say this, but I might actually see this movie now.  Duncan Jones is rather new but I have full confidence in him after watching Moon and Source Code, and that coming from someone who can't stand Jake Gyllenhaal

I liked Moon. Looking forward to it. Hopefully Legendary will announce some Mass Effect movie updates soon.

Moon was a good movie. I believe it starred Sam Rockwell who I don't see in nearly enough movies, then again I don't watch all that many.

Now it's live action again? I thought it was going to be animated?! Anyway I'm really iffy about this. I'd like to see it but I don't have high hopes. We'll see I suppose.

Maybe if it was cartoony and all sweet and innocent, but there's no way a gritty live action movie would work for this, with all the night elves and orcs, there's no way i could take that seriously.

Sorry, but this should be Zack Snyder's baby. Look what he did with Dawn of the Dead, 300, and Watchmen beautifully. He's a great Director when it comes to an existing license. Just my opinion.

I'm glad to hear they are finally wanting to do a movie. I just hope it is all cgi. Then if it succeeds.... Starcraft!

While I'm still sad that Sam Rami isn't directing it this guy has done more than enough to prove his worth. The good director checkbox is down, but I'm still skeptical on the writers capabilities. He's never done anything to make me automatically get angry for casting him, but he's also done nothing to prove he is up to the monumental task at hand. I hope he's going to do a good job, I'm just a little skeptical.

NOOOOO!!!! Little Bowie!! I wanted him to do another awesome sci-fi movie!!! AHHHG Well at least this has the potential to make a ton of money. Then he can make whatever awesome movie he wants. 

Movie based on Warcraft 3 and The Frozen Throne with great writing it can be a fantastic set of movies.

When I heard about this movie about 5 years ago, I did care. The game was good back then. I don't care anymore for obvious reasons for those who got enough cells to do the maths. I think I'll go take a bath now, thank you.

Duncan Jones is a fantastic Director, dare we say it could we now have a decent film based on a video game... pretty please?

Duncan Jones, nice! they're actually serious about this project i'm so glad, he's a great choice and source code was an awesome movie.

I do believe just "Warcraft" as a title would sound cooler, has a dark tone to it and would look more appealing to the non gaming crowd. 

my only reaction to this is "WAT".

the should not even bother with a live action movie. the cinematic in the game are awesome so just make it a short film or direct to dvd because its gonna fail at the box office. its WORLD OF WARCRAFT. i hear that and i dont even care to want to watch it.

Moon was a stellar (no pun intended) film.   However, it had the unfair advantage of a Clint Mansell soundtrack -- everything he touches becomes GOLD.

I didn't see Source Code, since it just seemed too cheesy, but I have to admit I'm curious what Duncan Jones can do WITHOUT Clint Mansell setting the mood.  Let's just hope he leaves the idiotic Kung Fu Pandas out of it.

Who knows.

WoW is definitely hard to turn into a movie, you'd pretty much need something on a scale close to LotR for it make not looks cheap. And Moon was so intimate. But it was awesome so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

No video game films have ever been good... But Moon was an awesome film, so you never know.

Why can't it just be a "Warcraft" movie?  I say to hell with all the WoW fans and start the script with the Warcraft I: Orcs and Humans story line :D Moon was kinda interesting, but Source Code straight sucked balls.  Although Shia LaBeouf would make a good Pandarian...

But the question is: will the nerds get off their game to go see a movie about the game?

I rather they make Starcraft than WOW movie.

Please let this be the movie that finally breaks the curse of the crappy video game adapted movies.

I just can't picture WoW lore and characters in a live action movie.  GL, Moon was awesome, but I have this sneaking suspicion Duncan Jones will drop the project just like all the directors that came before him.

WoW movie that sound buzzing since 2007 but havent seen any production yet. I think within a year we willbe heard that the director Duncan Jones has abandoned the film tobe developed just like Sam Raimi did

great idea but years to late.. maybe they are hoping people will come back and play again

I think this movie is 5 years late. At the moment, all the hype is lost, and probably when the movie will be ready, people will play "Titan"...
