Witcher publisher's next big games hit in 2014, 2015

Not so fare now .

Well I got skyrim, so that will probably last me until 2014.

@Archontic Deal with it. Best games usually have long development cycles.

i don't want to think about being 30 by the time this is released. stop telling me about things that are far away.

2014 and 2015 are so far away that they really aren't worth thinking about imo.

@02050muh What , I never mentioned in any post that i would change my pc , hell if you know how to use it you can play on it 4-5 years with no issues, 500$ is an estimation , my pc with my configuration would cost less , duh 4 years old config. And most of the console players run from the pc because of the need to change every option to run the game optimal in which I don't see any issue because you really do need to have a little knowledge about the options you activate or deactivate, so PC gaming is for people with more knowledge of his/hers system and some passion for it...I for one have to work to go to school and I can play games without being frustrated by the fact that i need to be careful how my software and hardware config.are working...But my opinion is that consoles , this generation, aren't even comparable with a pc and for some even the new generation will not compare to it because it evolves, someday we will stop thinking about PC or consoles and that would be better for all of us although diversity is good for the market...|Raging and bashing???? whattttttt, I just pointed some facts, and the fact is that consoles do less cost less, pc does more cost more......and one more thing why would I buy a PC only for games......For some it is a hobby , if you have money why not ........THE fact remains that PC is better on every aspect......good luck

@jollybest1 500$?? pfffftt...i'm still happy with my hd4570 gc...it still can handle bf3 well...at least nowadays,i'm not FORCE to upgrade anythng since 3 years...dun undrstand why pc gamers ranting and bashing others

@jollybest1 Indeed,in PC gaming patience and care for work is always important,PC gamers aren't sheep(at least most of them) that will be brainwashed by few ads and flashy trailers.Earning the respect of the PC community isn't easy,only devs who understand games should be about art,not about cashing in can do it.Also,I feel the same on CoD,I still remember how awesome it once was,when it was PC orriented,and very unique.Sad how it got turned into a huge mockery now :( And yeah,Stalker really innovated the FPS genre,love those games,can't wait for Stalker 2.Only Im afraid of those rumors about always online DRM,hope they aren't true,and that GSC won't take the worst possible route when it comes to PC gaming.

you go CDprojekt. Don't rush your products (I'm looking at you dragon age 2)

NOTE I will always bring Stalker in any discusion because it inovated the FPS genre ....No AI or survival type gaming can compare with Stalker when we talk about fps and my repsect goes to them for bringing one of the best survival fps with rpg elements on the market

@Rocker6 yah man you are right , patience is a virtue and the ones that have it will always be happy because with patience good things come (not always but most of the time)....Not to mention that CDPR demonstrated that making games is an art not only money making. Maybe some people will get angry with me but COD became a b e a t c h for some and Activision is the PIMP that takes the money. COD gives pleasure for some time but not on a long term, a game for some gamers is something that keeps them there wanting to see and understand more, it should be an art and CDPR demonstrated that art and hard work (unfortunately the amount of money that they received for their work is less than for a repetitive title) can be a success..I've saw games like Stalker , ARMA (Bohemia were the true creators of OPF), X universe and The Witcher fighting with giants that are overrated and I am happy to say that they won respect from the pc community like Bethesda before ......

@kos_maverik Patience,its better to wait a few years for a finished and well made product worth the money asked,than get watered down annual releases...

I don't know but i think comparing TW2 with Skyrim is wrong..one focuses on freedom and to be honest the story in Skyrim isn't the best and the other one focuses on the story and it sacrifices some of the freedom that ES titles bring..I love ES games and the freedom that they bring and I love TW games for the story and the Graphics

This game was supposed to come out for ps3. Oh well, Skyrim's better anyway. :)

Ok i know what a AAA game is but what is AAA+ PS awesome news the more new AAA games the merrier

@ABakedAlien with skyrim I can safely say is the same issue as with all Bethesda game SAME OLD engine with less bugs....most of the Bethesda released or published games look good at distance but awful up close, even Rage a game developed by ID, and skyrim may be a good looking game for your console standards but if I compare it with the witchers graphics it is awful

@02050muh first of all I have a quad and it is 4 years old why would I upgrade it , why would i have more than 6 gigs of ram , why would I spend money on a new hard if the one that i have works fine , and a new motherboard ?????.....Secondly Not all of the pc gamers spend their money like that , you should not buy a pc if you are going to upgrade it every time a new thing is released on the market.....I believe console gamers have problems understanding that only they would want to do that particular thing, most of the pc gamers that don't have that much money to spend on upgrading their rigs just to be top of the line and brag about it, all the games released until now work on med to high settings on 500$ rigs and they are still more powerfull than a console ........

@eva02langley woa! 125$ for just a graphic card? how about motherboard, quad core processor, a hard drive, PSU n a decent RAM? u just sound ridiculous urself...PC is definitely expensive. unless u know what u r building, it also delicate to take care off...bottom line,pc IS EXPENSIVE!!

Yeah,I talked to another user from Brazil complaining about the unfair electronics prices recently,think the name was Toplinkar or something like that.Really sucks you ppl have to pay such outrageous prices,if I was there,would go with a console too,I guess.Where Im from,in Europe,there is also no Gamestop or any more famous game stores,but fortunately game and tech prices are fine,no taxes or crap like that...

@Rocker6 Yeah, building a pc here is absurd. Consoles her are expensive too, thats why i bought my consoles in the US , not something i could do with a pc... as the price would double because of the taxes since it would be over 500$. If i could travel to the US every year maybe it would make sense, but since i go once every three years there is no way i can maintain a pc. Yeah, taxes here in Brazil are absurd regarding eletronics...i mean, 100% in taxes is just plain evil. I get that they do this to "protect the national product"... well if we had any it sure would make sense. Just to show how expensive this kind of things are here...i see people complaining about the 60 $ games thats cheap here, really cheap i would say. Try 100 $ if not more, maybe 120 $. No there is no gamestop here. We are not a big gaming market, the population is mainly poor with modt of the money being in the hand of few, so i dont see anything changing. This things would get me mad if there werent more important problems to fix.

@gamerxxx89 LOL...in that case, pc gamers have HUGE advantage n can save a lot of money spending for games...i dun wanna change graphic card n processor every 2 years...that's just ridiculous!

I can't wait to get my hands on this game when it comes out on the 360 next March or April. I even might pass on ME3 for The Witcher 2: Assassin's of Kings.

@kkxtrouble If PCs are absurdly expensive,then thats understandable,and yeah,that sucks.But keep in mind how if you build your PC smartly,it can end up being profitable in the long run,since PC games are cheaper than console ones,also there are Steam sales with great offers,not availible on consoles.At least thats how things work where Im from.For example,about a year ago I bought me a PS3 and a HDTV(a cheaper kind) because I wanted to play some PS3 exclusives,and all that costed me quite a lot,for that money I could've bought me another gaming rig that outperforms PS3 easily,that could also Max out most games out there... @Rocker6 Well yeah, pcs are cheaper but the thing is that consoles are much cheaper. While i myself prefer to play on the pc i cant affor to. Maybe its because im focusing too much on my country where pcs are absurdly expensive. But yeah, valve is awesome. The thing is valve does great games, but they are not demanding, they use a somewhat old engine. Its style over graphics. When i was a kid eveybody played on pc, but then again, there werent even 3d videocards back then. Now...i dont know enyone who does, well not anyone who is still in school/college. When i graduate i'm probably going to get a good pc, but then and only then, when i dont have to rely on my familys money. Oh, and thanks for answering in a polite manner to someone who sees it different - thats what gamespot needs.

@nyran125: I believe you have solid statistic, but unfortunately it does not reflect what happen in my neighborhood. Many kids have consoles while only grown-ups have PC. FYI, I live in a country where kids are much more numerous than adults and reliable internet connection can be more expensive than PS3. There is one weird thing: Piracy is rampant here, and many store sell pirated software & game for $4-5 per DVD, yet PS3 is still very popular.

pc games dont sell as well as they use to? interesting. 210'000 people on avg everyday are playing SKYRIM on STEAM, thats not including outside of STEAM. only 89'000 people on avg are playing Battlefield 3 across PS3, Xbox every day . So just the PC version of SKYRIM , has a bigger player base every day than BF3 does on console. What that tells me is console gamers drop thier games quicker and move onto the next big thing quicker than PC gamers. PC gamers stick to thier games forever. Theres a massive difference betweeen consoel gamers and PC gamers. Over 100'000 people are still playing Counter strike 1.6 and Source on avg on PC every day from 1999-2011. Over 1.5 MILLION play Starcraft series on avg every day. They wont just move onto the next big thing, theyll stick to thier games. That also tells me the quality of PC gaming is miles better than consoles. When Bad company 3 comes out all console gamers will drop BF3 and go to that. PC gamers will stick to whatever the best version is. MAdden wasnt sropped because of thier stupid piracy excuse, it was dropped because the EA Madden NFL year to year business model doesnt work on PC, only consoles. Pc gamers arent going to just go buy a game thats the same as the year before unless its amazing. Theres only a few games that come out yearly that do well on PC and thats Football manager 2012. As games come out in the next few years before the XBOX 720 , more and more gamers are going to go to PC. PC gaming always improves , console gaming never improves until the next consoles are out.

@gamerxxx89 While i agree with you on the fact that skyrim looks dumbed down on pc i completly disagree with you on your other point; They should make their leading platform the one they know its going to sell the most on. You are being a little selfish there, because you are a pc gamer. By making their leading platform the one most likely to sell they please more people and make more money. Pc nowdays is mostly for more hardcore gamers, pc games dont sell like they used to. I know that cod is not the perfect examplebut i'll use it anyway - pc represents about 5% of all cod sales, the games that sell the most on pc are RTSs which are already meant to be played on pc. A gaming Pc is becoming evermore expensive to maintain, its madness to make it the priority.

I enjoyed the whicher, what hurts it the most is its name, such a bland name, too generic. But the game itself is great.

how about bringing out the witcher 2 for ps3?

Oh and people who have yet to buy Witcher 2, or Witcher Enhanced Edition for that matter, go out and buy it. Two of the best RPG's of the last many years. And I'd be surprised if it was anything short of amazing on Xbox.

I really hope that they don't turn into the next Bioware, meaning take shortcuts and sacrifice quality to appeal to the glut of 12 year olds buying easy, stupid games. Dragon Age 2 was just an abortion of a game.

@ABakedAlien Nope,you're wrong.Creation Engine isn't a new game engine by any means.Its very obvious its just an updated version of Gamebryo,since it looks very similiar and has all problems that plagued Gamebryo(getting stuck inside game objects,etc).It was only marketed as a fully new engine to hype the game more.So in the end, @gamerxxx89 is right...

@gamerxxx89 Skyrim uses a new engine called the "creation engine" you have no idea what you're talking about. Go get some sun you filthy PC gamer.

and skyrim on pc looks like game of 2006-07.....just because it was ported from consoles huh!! why should pc gamers suffer the blow i dont say consoles are bad or anything but every developer should make pc his leading platform and let us make full utilisation of our processors and gpu ( not like skyrim same oblivion engine or cod mw3 even 4-5 years old card can maxed out it easily)

While that amount of time would be long enough to develop The Witcher 3 properly, I wouldnät mind something else. As long as the games are good, it's all good.

The Witcher was one of the best games I have played this year. The game was polished, fun and had an awesome graphics. I really love the fact that CD Project would rather take the time to improve their product then rush them for a quick cash grab based on name popularity cough*DA2*Cough.

@roxxast_xav1o u filthy mindless animal u have a ps3 and ur planning to buy a 360 but u cant buy a gaming pc huh!! foolish....i too have a ps3 but still i think PC IS THE MOST SUPERIOR PLATFORM. about witcher 2 wow!! wonderful pc exclusive and i request cd projekt to make witcher 3 also a pc exclusive otherwise it will be ported from console and look like ( nvidia 8400 gs + 256 mb ram) ..as some people in other language name it as XBOX 360..:D

I hope one of the smaller project is "The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf" who was put on hold a while back before The Witcher 2's release.

@nryan125 - I'm with you on that one. Not a mmo-fan either; love borderlands, and Dead Island is seriously my favorite game this year.

Glad they aren't rushing them but to me it's wearisome when a dev works on two games at once. Makes me worry they are spreading themselves too then, with the possibility that one of the two, or both, will end up less than polished. Hopefully, with the long dev. cycle, it'll balance out.
