Wonder why they don't release this sequel for Ps vita . Cuz Ps vita can do almost as much as the Wii U controller ( maybe more with the rear touch panel )
Wii U NFC in Rayman Legends trailer only a tech demo

Creative director Michel Ancel believes new console's NFC capabilities could allow for "innovative" gameplay, but no plans yet.
A trailer for Wii U game Rayman Legends suggested the title would leverage the system's near-field communication (NFC) technology, allowing users to place objects on the GamePad to beam them into the game. However, creative director Michel Ancel has clarified the situation, saying the trailer was only displaying a possible feature, not something concrete.
"We didn't announce this officially and it was more the kind of experiment we do when working on new hardware like the Wii U," Ancel told the Official Nintendo Magazine. "We had prototypes of this and we believe that having real objects manipulating gameplay could be quite innovative. But again, this was a prototype and we won't discuss it until it's ready to demonstrate its full potential."
None of the dozens of Wii U launch titles take advantage of the Wii U GamePad's NFC technology. This includes Activision's Skylanders Giants, which instead uses its own Portal of Power to bring real-world objects into the game.
Rayman Legends was originally intended to launch in November, but is now expected in early 2013.

Figures? No thank you.Now if you offered NFC Chip or AR Cards as promos or cheap booster packs, then that will gain my interest.What I really want to see is someone make a Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, or Kaijudo (event though I never played the 1st or last ones) that can scan the card number via the camera and spawn the card on screen, with the GamePad as your side of the field. This would allow those that already have collections or decks to duel worldwide or against the CPU without having to change strategies because the game is not up to date. Also DLC for NFC or AR cards would be appreciated.
@BreyantI'm almost sure that they are releasing this for the 360 as well, but I may be wrong. I know they released Origins on the 360 and it has done really well on that system.
Does the NFC in the gamepad serve any purpose at the moment... or even in the near future? Seems like a waste to me. A wasted feature that we are paying for, it would seem.
Vita version would be nice? Rayman Origins to this is day is the highest rated Vita title and the capabilities offered by the Wii U controller are present in the Vita, it'd work well.
they better not put nfc in this game. skylanders was enough. that game is an insult to spyro fans

2 Like @NINEINCH-Tool First of all, i reject the assertion that Nintendo should market to kids if that's what you're implying.
That said, you must not watch a lot of kids TV. I do because I have young kids, and I swear to God they always put college-age guys in commercials for boys toys and teenage girls in commercials for girls toys. Marketron 5000 must have determined that somehow it appeals more to kids that way.
BTW PS Vita commercials are all filled with college age hipsters too.
Wii-U shouldn't be pigeonholed, and commercials shouldn't curtail to some demographic...it underplays the attention span of the observer. Yes, I don't watch tv, I don't even have cable or satellite hooked up to my room (as the rest of the house does). I may be too cynical but I dislike these designations and categorizations that come from marketing....I'm a college aged douchebag and they're traipsing on my lawn damn it!!!

If you're a company that likes milking parents out of their money by convincing their 8 year old children with commercials that they need to collect all the stupid little "action" figures that are a required part of your game.
1 Like I hate this idea. Who the **** wants to keep little figurines around their room? Would have been badass back when I was a kid but now I need more practical features.
If this game is as good as Origins it would be tempting to buy a Wii U for it.
