Developer's director of communications says Wii U potentially capable of "advancing" Call of Duty, has no idea which dev is working on Black Ops: Declassified for PS Vita.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II has not been announced for Nintendo's upcoming Wii U console, but developer Treyarch believes this system could push the limits of the series.
"When you talk about any technology that can enhance the Call of Duty experience, that's a technology that is worth considering," Treyarch director of communications John Rafacz told Videogamer. "There's that core Call of Duty experience and that is what fans expect, so anything that helps advance that is worth considering."
During the 2012 Electronic Entertainment Expo, Nintendo marketing executive Scott Moffitt said the Wii U could become the "preferred way" to play core titles, like Call of Duty. He said, "You can imagine how a game like Call of Duty would work on the Wii U--the GamePad will allow you to declutter the TV and pull gaming items like maps down and not interrupt your interaction and enjoy the cinematic quality of the game on the TV."
Call of Duty: Black Ops II is due out on November 13 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. As for the Wii U, that system is expected to arrive worldwide this holiday season.
Elsewhere in the interview, Rafacz said he has no idea which studio is developing Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified for the PlayStation Vita.
"With regards to the Vita, all I can tell you is that it's quite literally declassified," he said.
Recently, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and Guitar Hero developer Neversoft became the fifth Activision-owned studio tapped to work on the Call of Duty franchise. That studio's project is currently unknown.

I remember back about 2 years ago when everyone on Gamespot was glorifying MW2. Now look at all of you. It's amazing what 2 games can do to ruin an entire series reputation. Maybe they have finally decided to get it right again. At least give them a chance.
Agree with wii u as Advance system question is how Devs will use it, As for Cod God sake Shutdown Your Copy paste studio once and for all.
It's interesting to see a few more developers suddenly interested in the Wii U hardware after the gameplay footage of Zombi U was spread over the internet. Being a tech guy myself, I still want to know whats under the hood though.

Uh.... doesn't he mean "classified"? Declassified would mean that we have all the information for the game.

According to that logic your ''next gen'' ps4/720 is already gen before last gen compared to pc , which would be the ONLY next gen system.

Are you kidding me? The WiiU hardware will be dated crap, said by the same people of Nintendo. The Wii history will repeat again with the WiiU: crappy, dated, cheap hardware that will at much be at the level of the Xbox 360.
2 Like ok putting the map on the controller would declutter the screen but having to glance down at your hand instead of the top right of the screen means your not looking at the screen at all and thats going to get you killed
I don't think CoD is bad. It just needs a new engine with better lighting effects and destructable environments. No more camping! Oh and a better HUD.

That's just dumb, I don't wanna look away from the screen to look at the mini-map. That would get you killed more than anything.
A next-gen console wouldn't work for Call of Duty. The Wii U's hardware power might prevent it from both running at 60 fps and looking like crap at the same time

@ABEzilla116 Sorry but @emperiox is somewhat right. The WiiU will, once again, have date, crappy hardware that can match Xbox 360 at much, this was insinuated by Nintendo people themselves some days ago. When 720 and PS4 arrive, WiiU will not be match to them and succumb to oblivion quickly like the Wii. I just hope Nintendo know what they are doing....
