First US Wii game to use Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, DS connectivity coming to US; other Nintendo games dated.
North American gamers have been wondering when they would be able to properly take their Wiis online for some head-to-head action against other Wii owners. Today, Nintendo answered that question.
Pokémon Battle Revolution, which was previously released in Japan, is headed for the US and will use the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, Nintendo's online gaming service. Pikachu's debut on the Wii is set for June 25.
The game also marks the first US Wii game to incorporate connectivity with its handheld cousin, the Nintendo DS. Gamers will be able to import characters from their DS copies of Pokémon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl (both of which will release April 25), and even use their DSs as controllers for the Wii version.
Nintendo also announced the release dates for several other Wii and DS games through this summer. Among the noteworthy release dates are Super Paper Mario on April 9, Mario Party 8 on May 29, Big Brain Academy (Wii) on June 11, and the Nintendo DS Web Browser on June 4. A full list is below.

i bought an online adapter that doesnt use wi-fi its directly cabled from modem, because i dont want any lag from wireless routers. it connects through the usb ports and so does the wi fi piece u buy for the wii
can any one tell me how does the ds work with Battle Revoultion. like is there a game u need to buy with it. explain please
cool a ds browser and a wii online game but how will u connect to a wireless connection if the wii doesnt have the thing like the psp has so im guessing its gonna connect through the wii I think it uses the wi-fi that both the DS and the Wii have.

lool soe soo mee eef iam rong, bawt waee ar yoo all koolyur thaen mee? Kool a Nintendo DS Browser...That'll kick arse.
hmmm.. nothing noteworthy. would've been awesome if DS users could battle Wii users online. to me thats next level play.
i'm exited about ds webbrowser though i'm angry that it took this long. the pokemon game is nothing special though. it's too kiddy.
"who cares. I thought the ds browser wasn't that good oh and the British beat the Aussies we have had for 6 months =)" man, u guys get the games first and the us gets the systems first :(
who cares. I thought the ds browser wasn't that good oh and the British beat the Aussies we have had for 6 months =)
is the DS browser basically the internet? (its prolly obvious but i wanna make sure) also is it a game card or downloadable application? does anyone knoe?
Super Paper Mario, Prince of Persia, Mortal Combat, Mario Party 8, Big Brain Academy, Pokemon revolution, Heatseekers .. and maybe Legend of the Dragon ? ... Are the games to keep an eye on for this installment of Wii games, at least these are the ones I know, the rest, either not worth looking at, or I simply don't know them ...yet. Looking Healthy so far..... Well All I care of is Super Paper Mario .... (but when in earth will it arrive EU ) ???????
Hey AngelCage, you probably wont read this since you posted on like the 3rd page, but WTF? I play many "real RPGs" and beat them, and still play Pokemon, it's fun! and the new one coming out for the DS is going to have many MANY new features, just not a little change here and there. Plus, you get to use the touch screen! Awesomeness. I don't think people who diss Pokemon even play it... they just see it and think "Oh look another remake of Pokemon, it must suck because it looks childish" Indeed it looks childish, but it's not the looks that I care about, it's the gameplay! It's very fun and this new version has so many new, useful, awesome features that I look forward to!
really only 3 of those games wii are going to be decent but all the heavy hitting game will come out between summer and the begining of next year like ssbb, super mario galaxy, and metroid
i rather have a psp which already has a browser on it plus it has good games too i aint sayin ds suck n all that its pretty good but i much prefer a psp
to hazuki: *start of sarcasm* wow really? i never would have thought. its not like they're based in japan or anything. im mean really, everyone there speaks english, not japanese. they dont need to go through weeks of strenuous translation just so people can catch one idiomatic expression like "win is you". they dont do anything for america. they didnt ship millions of wii (which sold well) halfway around they world in a matter of months. they aren't doing us a favor by gracing us with their abilities to (in general) make way better games than anything made anywhere else. i mean, its not like they revived an almost dead "fad" known as video gaming.*end of sarcasm* america probably isnt lower than japan in nintendo's eyes and if it is, not by far. they make klarillions of dollars off of american consumers, they sent half their world wide shipment of wiis to north america during launch. im pretty sure they actually launched a few things in america before they did in japan too (nintendo DS) so dont EVER say nintendo put america down. sony on the other hand...
Wow, there ain't much for nintendo systems on this list. I'd only play the pokemon games, and mortal kombat. The rest can just float on. Also, why is the ds web browser not out till june? Japan has had it for months. Dang, nintendo always puts america lower than japan.
OMG!!!!!!! You pokemon fans really need to jump out of grade school land and hit reality! In other words GROW UP! If I see one more kid in my crappy middle school with a pokemon deck or game I swear ill freaking kill 'em. At my old middle school you'd probobly get beatin up for having any yu gi oh or pokemon CRAP and if you did not get hurt your among the lucky. Thank god I quit playing in the 2nd or 3rd grade because now I can look at the middle school idiots playin them and laugh. I pity you all and you can't consider yourselves real gamers I'm sorry.
Gotta catch 'em all! I'm looking forward to the NDS Browser and Rune Factory too, but Pokemon was, is, and will continue to be one of the best series of all time.
pokemon's great and all, but where's metroid prime 3 its coming out june 1st and gamespot doesn't show it?????????
What the? The DS Browser is allready out! I live in England so maybe it come out here first... I'm gonna get Pearl for DS but I heard that you can only play Friends (on your friend list) over Wi-Fi SO hopefully, the Wii Pokemon (pokemon revolution) will let you play ANYONE, that would be one of the features which would make gamers buy it, but I hope they do.
Finally the release date! I'll have fun playing it before i go to high school and have no time to play it...
