Wii Fit shapes up for Japan
Nintendo to release the game that kicked off the exercise-game development craze before the holiday season.
Gamers in Japan will have absolutely no excuse for putting on the pounds this Christmas, as Wii Fit has been confirmed for release on December 1. The game will come bundled with the Wii Balance Board, as demonstrated by Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime at this year's E3.
The game will be priced at 8,800 yen (approx $75) for the bundle. A slew of similar titles has been announced by developers since Wii Fit was revealed, including Active Life for the Wii and Let's Yoga for the DS.
Wii Fit will feature four different exercise activities: aerobics, muscle conditioning, yoga, and balance. The Wii Balance Board also calculates each gamer's body mass, so they can track their progress over the weeks they play the game.
Neither a North American nor European release date has been announced for the title yet, although Nintendo has confirmed that Wii Fit will be coming to the regions.
Thank you Mr Sick Visionz. Atleast someone gets it

it wouldn't be hard to imagine some of the gamespot employees suffer heart attacks after playing and reviewing this add-on. have you seen these cows on video reviews? god i cant wait to see the blubber on them start flailing! TAKE THAT GAMESPOT!
Not a lot of people view 'going to the gym' as exorcise. Seriously, if I looked like Arnold - I'd commit suicide. I'm already fit (yes, I'm an American), however, I'm lazy. I'm not over 160lb, even though I'm 6'1. It's mainly muscle mass that makes me get up close to that weight. I like having a smaller physic healthy body, then a brainless tee wee aee tee muscle bond idiot at a gym.
This is a Wii trend... hardcore gamers bash it and don't see the point, but then it stays sold out in stores. If Wiifit is a success in the US, I think we may have to admit that "hardcore" gamers are very much out of touch with the needs and wants of the general public. Especially when it comes to electronics. But really, this isn't even a game. I think it'll make excercising seem more fun, but this isn't a game as much as i'd call it a lifestyle product or something to that effect. Most gamers are young males so we have a hard time grasping anything thats not aimed at young males. Step outside the box and you'll see the potential of this.
That what entertainment means . Entertainment is not only about playing and gaming. This game bring out the meanings of living healthy. Wii fit is similar game to brain age or Wii sport
If it works I'll definitely get it. Good thing that there is video game reviews.
Just to inform people that obesity can also be traced through genetics so we cant generalize them as all being lazy though most of them are. But those that became obese due to laziness would never pick-up this type of games unless it comes with a free dozen doughnuts. So this game would be mostly picked-up by exercise freaks who are already physically fit anyways. No, it wont keep the weight of the world down

Plenty of proteins, say, 20 eggs and some wii fit equals Schwarzenegger muscle! ...effortless.
I want it. I hope some awesome games come out of it.
nephthyswandere > No not really. The concept of getting fit is a bit silly, but the ideas of the Balance Board itself could be used for some cool games, like snowboarding or the like. I might pick it up, depending on how fun the game is.
the us has never been big on exercising, INCLUDING GAMES! as a american i think this is a stupid way to work out, just do a normal workout at your local gym, u can get way more fit
America=best country
I dont get it, The US has the most obese people on Earth while Japan has starving children. We need it more then they do. It has to come out earlier!!!
Robio_basic I intend to use this to train for NINJA WARRIOR! Go for it dude!!!
I intend to use this to train for NINJA WARRIOR!
rose your dissapointing!!!
This will flop hard in NA. I don't understand why people think this will be big here. "Yourself Fitness" for Xbox sold very dismally. What makes Wii Fit so different?
this is gonna pwn no doubt wii is gonna top it with all this new stuff to bad brawl is coming out in january though
@dryden555 - The balance board is anything but basic; it has two accelerometers built into the unit. Standing on the board, you can dodge, jump, turn, duck, and make other on-screen movements base on your own actions. I would call that pretty advanced!
the balance board is pretty basic in functionality though -- not sure about it
I'd buy it. Wii is turning into a fun exercising and active console. If you feel too lazy after playing ps3 or 360, play this and get that blood flowing.

You're a loser if your name is rose_please. :D
now for all of u who cant afford an excersize machine...
It's not a game. It's exercising. Since when was exercising called as playing a game?
what a dissapointing console..

Anything to help us fat-butt Americans shed some weight would be great. To me though, it seems like it'll only help the severely obese or inactive. My g/f used the Eye Toy Kinetic and she loved it (she's neither of the aforementioned types of Americans) so this might appease to her, as well.
Cool. Not for me though.
I need this game during the winter season. I can never be bothered to go out running when its cold.
i can't wait! america has too many fat people - we need this!
picturing my grandma using this. omg help
wii play isn't boring, its a good multiplayer
@specialed and @cf2012 Expressing an opinion does not makes someone closed-minded. In fact, contrary opinions are necessary to prevent closed minds. The balance board has potential, but I do not see Nintendo aiming to fill that potential in the near future seeing only fitness-related titles on the horizon. Maybe that will change in the future, but I have not yet seen any indication to this as yet. Personally, I'm hoping the balance board and Wiimote will be used in collaboration in a real Zelda game where swinging the remote actually matters. You could use the nunchuck to block as a shield. Dodging using the balance board would be awesome.
Hopefuilly the games they bundle with it are entertaining like "wii sports" and not boring like "wii play" games.
this is going to be awsome, great way to lose weight and it ,looks quite fun
WOW nintend is bringing out all these risky assessories / might work in japan because they are just weird, but not in the states.
The Wii Fit looks like a piece of flimsy polystyrene. If any of you Tubs-o-flubs got on one of those it looks as though it would break.
now if we could only get this in america...bunch lardos (myself included)
this is one needed step for every gamer and one giant leap towards global domination for Nintendo
Regardless of whether Wii Fit helps weight loss or not, the illusion of it doing so, and the Wii Sports-esque mainstream appeal of the game, will ensure that Nintendo will sell millions of copies, plus many more consoles. Price cuts? Not needed.
i wonder if it will work
The silence is deafening. :|
Awesome Here is the next big system seller folks Casuals have yet another stepping stone on their way to gaming and hardcore gamers have another genre they have to master to hold their title. Great news
$75? The most I'd pay for it here is $60, and that's still a rip.
