Whore of the Orient targeting 2015
Team Bondi's L.A. Noire follow-up to enter full production next year with release probable for 2015, job listings say.
The next body of work from L.A. Noire studio Team Bondi will not be ready for a few more years. That's according to job listings at KMM Interactive (the firm that acquired the rights last year to studio founder Brendan McNamara's next game), which suggest Whore of the Orient will be complete in 2015.
Internet supersleuth Superannuation spotted the job listings, which describe Whore of the Orient as a "narrative action adventure title" that is "similar in style to L.A. Noire." The game will also reportedly use the MotionScan technology that brought characters to life in L.A. Noire
The listings go on to state that Whore of the Orient is presently in preproduction, with "full production" believed to begin sometime early next year and run through the middle of 2015.
It was revealed last month that Whore of the Orient will be a next-generation game for consoles and PC. A Warner Bros. logo was spotted on the game's website, though all mention of Whore of the Orient has disappeared.
Whore of the Orient puts players into the "most corrupt and decadent city on the planet." Shanghai in 1936, according to the game's description, is a "boiling pot of Chinese nationalism," with Kuomintang forces attempting to suppress the spread of communism while a group of Western police officials try to keep the peace. It is not clear what role players will take on in Whore of the Orient.
Brendan McNamara previously described Whore of the Orient as "one of the great untold stories of the 20th century." For more on Team Bondi's latest body of work, check out GameSpot's review of L.A. Noire.
