US Rental Charts Feb. 17-23: Street Fighter IV cleans up
Capcom's 2D fighter tops GameFly's rental charts on Xbox 360, PS3, as Microsoft's platform scores near-perfect sweep of top 10.
Street Fighter IV is proving to be a hit at retail, with Capcom announcing today that it has shipped 2 million units to retailers across the globe. The 2D fighter is making a name for itself on the rental charts, as well. The well-rated Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions of Street Fighter IV took the top two slots in GameFly's weekly recap of its US game-loaning activity for the week of February 17-23.
Microsoft's Xbox 360 scored a clean slip in rental activity for the remainder of GameFly's weekly chart. The Valve-published, EA-distributed Left 4 Dead placed third, having scored fourth in The NPD Group's monthly sales chart for January. The survival horror shooter was followed by a number of other top sellers, with Call of Duty: World at War, Gears of War 2, Fallout 3, Fable II, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed falling in at respective fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth slots.
Debuting at second on this week's PC charts, the Xbox 360 edition of F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin was the ninth most-rented title last week. Ubisoft's Prince of Persia took the final position in GameFly's top 10 chart.
