US Rental Charts Feb. 17-23: Street Fighter IV cleans up

the ps3 is incredible. the 360 has the advantage bcuz all the gamespot critics use it and they all hate the ps3. thats y KZ2 only got a 9.0 instead of a 9.5+.

Resident Evil 5 would to same the background between XBOX 360 and PS3? let see which is the best RE 5 game.

This proves achievement is the best feature Microsoft ever created. By the way I have all these games. "Achievement Unlocked: SF4 Unbeatable Fist"

No Surprise on Street Fighter being the top. Sony needs to start advertising it's games better.

Hmmm I never rent. Probably cos I'm such a completionist - I like hammering out all achievements and secrets and stuff like that for every game I play. Having just been burned in both the last games I bought though (VERY disappointed with both FarCry 2 and Fable 2), maybe I'm going to start having to rent. One thing is for certain - I can't trust Gamespot's reviews - neither of those games deserved near 8.5/10.

I won't be surprised if SFIV will be 2009's game of the year. It's far too early to make a guess but IF that is the case, then it's not surprising.

Haha, and not a single Wii game? Do Wii owners even know they can rent games? Do they even know their are games other than Wii Sports?! But I digress... I guess it makes sense that the only PS3 game in the charts is SFIV, considering almost all of those games have been released on both systems but 360 has a larger userbase.

I havent rented games for years! Not since the good old Mega drive!

I have Xbox 360 and purchase all my games, i like to keep a game library at home.

Either 360 is successful, or Wii and PS3 owners just buy their games. And don't go all fanboy on me, I have all three consoles. Thank God for brothers. I haven't rented a game in years. I think I should again in case I make any accidental purchases. I think the last game I rented was for Gamecube or something.

All this proves is - most Xbox 360 owners are poor and therefore cant afford to actually buy games, oh dear!

Damn. My rental store isnt renting Street Fighter IV out but they're selling it for only 40euros so SCORE!!

Wow look at that, the 360 dominating the rental charts. lol, amazing how the Wii has a bigger install base and can't top the charts hands down, and the PS3...welll ,what's there to say about that! Anyways, the 360 is a monster and will actually be the victor this gen with the Wii by it's side.

I'm in MA, and all our rental stores have horrible selections. Just think: five copys of "The Bible Game." One copy of the newly released "Dragon Quest 8." It's that bad. Even if they couldn't get more than one copy of the latest, highly anticipated game, the "bible game." Really now? Do they think it's going to be THAT popular?

So all five copies of Street Fighter IV that gamefly got were rented on the first day? Funny how none of those ever find thier way to my house.... They could also easily factor Blockbuster and other rental chains into these charts, blockbuster is the #1 quantity renter of games i have heard....

I still think they should balance Gamefly's data with some of other rental outlets.... Working at one myself, I know that SFIV and Left 4 Dead definitely aren't even in the top 20 because none of us really got that many copies of it! lol.

I've always rented games since I've had to send my system off twice... I don't blame other people for doing the same.

WOW, I don't know I should be happy that all Xbox360 tops Gamefly rental or I should be concerned that how many Xbox360 gamers actually buy games. I for one haven't buy many games since I switch to Gamefly.

Looks like all the good games are on the list. Not shovelwares and junkwares from Wii.

Gamefly's US rental charts have been available from Gamespot for at least 2 years... it's just that they rarely make a news story out of it. If you click on the news link from the homepage ( http://www.gamespot.com/news/index.html ) and go to the bottom there are the rental charts... as well as US Console Sales (BestBuy.com) and US PC Sales (NPD), UK Sales (Chart Track) and Japan Sales (Media Create). 360 has dominated this chart since I believe its inception... in fact twice it has held every spot in the top 10. I think it has to do with a combination of things... the 360 has a relatively high installed base, "hardcore" gamers more likely to have Gamefly accounts and play more games than other gamers (think attachment rate) and then there's the people that rent for the achievements.

Why are we now getting numbers tracking rentals? Anyone else find this strange?
