Update: GameSpot & GameFAQs Board Changes

Wait a monkee - I posted my previous post hastily - now I see that GS is not going to have a forum - and we have to settle for the ugly, aggressive, fascist GF board??? WHy would they kill the popular GS board and keep the crappy GF board? How many people were using GFs board? Like 5? Everybody else has been banned and warned to the point that there's nobody left to participate! The only way I would stay with GS after this is if GF's board and its anal mod staff were completely replaced by GS staff. They would also have to give us an official burning of GFs board policies. GF was great before they were bought out, but they are by far one of the most displeasing boards on the internet now - what awful news.

I am welcoming a split of the boards, because I am tired of Gamefaqs mods OVER- MODDING and giving me warnings for stuff that is fine to post at Gamespot. Gamefaqs boards are way too anal and trying to control the boards like its a kindergarten class; I rarely post anything to GF boards and the crossover thing was stupid when you get a warning from a board you weren't even talking to in the first place. Gamespot has NEVER given me a warning - only stupid GF, and as I said I wasn't even posting to them and frankly I thought it was none of their damn business in the first place. Thank God for the split.

whose dumb idea was this? Treating GS users like this, I'd send him a 3 month bonus and a resume maker.

so i guess gamespot is going to stop existing...unprofitable i guess...kind of sux since looks like the gamespot boards do not exist anymore....can not post in them,

I think is a really good idea. As far as Gamefaqs, I've never logged onto that site before, anyway.

The next logical step would be to get rid of OTAH. Its not needed

Sooooo, when are the new forums being implemented? I don't want to have to go to GameFAQs just to post, would prefer to do it on this site. 

May this help in further achieving the management's ambitions of killing the site.

To also add I am now a level 1 on gamefaqs when I am actually a Level 32 on gamespot? I know levels are pointless but not when other members use that against you saying "move along people nothing to see here, just a level 1 troll" um nope! Ha

Yeah bad idea. I like posting on gamespot. I dont like or use gamefaqs. Why change something that worked fine ??? I don't want to have to go to a different site. I am use to this one.

It'd be nice to see some activity, yes. An active board can more often be a happy board.

I just hope the game boards here would become more active now.

I agree with what appears to be the general consensus that this is a bad decision. I'm a paying member of GS, and my primary interest is in the game forums...the list of Favorites I've compiled over 8 years, the names and faces I look for, etc. NOW you're telling me that I basically have to start from scratch? Rebuild lists, wait for more members to migrate, whatever? Man, that's bad. At least I can save $40 bucks when my renewal comes due.

This wouldn't be so bad if Gamefaqs' site design wasn't so utterly horrible.

So I can no longer post in the game discussion boards unless I sign into GF? Oh.. wait, there's still the "game board" except nobody posts there.. dumb update. It was fine the way it was before.

I can no longer use GS to post on GFAQs? What a stupid update. 

This is horrible, having joint boards was perfect, now people who use GameSpot are going to have to look in two places for answers/new information as opposed to one

you need to split these boards by platform.

I was fine the way it was and on the general game boards right now it seems to be almost dead compared to the separate boards for each game console. I guess if it picks up then it will be fine again.
