Uncharted-inspired FPS Deadfall Adventures coming from Painkiller dev

For those complaining about the jungle... it's NOT a jungle game. Yes, you go there at one point, but you also go to the desert and explore tombs.

About time PC got an uncharted-like game.

- "Well, we made about 6 Painkiller releases/updates. People are tired of that. We just can't milk it anymore. What do we do now?"

-"Uhh, uhh... aww man, I don't know. We still develop games? I've just been watching a bunch of movies when I come to the office. Just finished the Indiana Jones movies. Those are great."

in other words, a poor man's ( xbox 360 gamer's) uncharted.

Was there ever a good Indiana Jones game?  I remember one on the Mac in the early nineties.  It played like Hero's Quest and tales of Monkey Island... which is very similar to The Walking Dead game series.

I never did finish that Indiana Jones game.  One of the few, ever.

I was just thinking about Pitfall yesterday.   I remember this game on the Atari, when I was about 7, and the coolest part was that Pitfall Harry could turn around and run in the other direction, it was amazing.  I didn't see that again until Super Mario 2 on the NES.

If the gunplay feels right, the settings aren't corridor like and there's a decent amount of exploration and good puzzles then I'm game.

Indiana Jones > Tomb Raider > Uncharted > This game.

Screw originality!

SO... it's going to have, dare I say "borrowed", elements from past successful movie and video game franchises, with a title that for a split second made me think it was a PITFALL remake/sequel... could be interesting but so far, not so good.

Why is everyone complaining now?  Just about everything has been done and as for Jungle FPS games theres only like 3 I can think of: Crysis, Far Cry 1 and 3 .  It actually sounds genre blending and other than "the jungle setting" it sounds nothing like those games.  Just be glad it's not Call of Duty: The Jungle Book.

Is this game really necessary?   How many more games about a dude holding a fucking gun in the mother fucking jungle. do we need?  This drive me so crazay.

I remember the Jungle stage in Goldeneye. You crashed landed in the jungle, hiding behind trees for cover. Fun times. Been done. What are you going to add that I haven't seen in the last 2 decades and more of FPS saturation.

To all FPS developers: It's been done.

Indiana Jones-inspired-FPS? Wow, this could be awesome! I like treasure hunt mission (that include a bit of platforming) on Far Cry 3, if there's a game that focus on that, it could be an awesome new IP.

If they do this right this could be the game that makes their reputation... errr... I should say "fixes" their reputation (Damnation!) :P

Well, looks like another game that will pile on my already massive list of games to play.

Sorry, but this is a terrible and unprofessional article. Calling The Farm 51 "Painkiller dev" is misleading. Also, what the hell has Uncharted got to do with this game? It's not even the same genre. Indiana Jones-inspired, yes. Uncharted, f*** no. Uncharted is a rip-off in and of itself, thematically and gameplay-wise, thus it can't possibly inspire anything.

I'm intrigued! I also see that it is (at least in terms of consoles) exclusive to xbox. If this game is successful, it might become a series exclusive to the nextbox, who knows.

Deadfall, Pitfall, what?

Interesting they chose the name of Quartermain. Wonder if this will then relate to the adventures of Allan Quartermain as that is also a series of adventures. I'll wait for more on this, as it could be a fantastic, old fashioned adventure, but I am already intrigued by their choice name for their character.

They know how to make great games so this is great!
