"...begins with players jumping between a cargo plane and a speeding convoy of trucks, and it ends with players shooting it out in one of the hangars as fighter planes attempt to perforate them with machine-gun fire." Did anyone else feel giddy reading that sentence?
PlayStation Plus members and Infamous 2 owners get early access to worldwide multiplayer trial for Naughty Dog shooter; beta open to all July 5.
With the multiplayer beta for the Xbox 360-exclusive Gears of War officially kicking off today, Sony has announced that PlayStation 3 owners have a multiplayer beta for their own highly touted exclusive on the way.
Sony today announced that the multiplayer beta for Naughty Dog's upcoming Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception will go live on June 28 for PlayStation Plus members and customers who purchased Infamous 2. The beta will open to the rest of the PlayStation 3 user base on July 5.
The beta will give players a chance to try out Uncharted 3's revamped multiplayer mode. In addition to new features like character customization, the ability to join games in progress, and same-console split-screen, Uncharted 3 multiplayer will feature levels that attempt to capture more of the flavor of the single-player campaign. For example, The Airstrip map begins with players jumping between a cargo plane and a speeding convoy of trucks, and it ends with players shooting it out in one of the hangars as fighter planes attempt to perforate them with machine-gun fire.
When it arrives on November 1, Uncharted 3 will focus on protagonist Drake's search for a lost city, with the wily adventurer finding his way to the Arabian Peninsula and its bleak Empty Quarter. In addition to the new multiplayer overhauls, the game will feature stereoscopic 3D capability, new stealth and melee maneuvers, and more. The game will debut alongside the first novel based on the series, Uncharted: The Fourth Labyrinth. An Uncharted film directed by David O. Russell and starring Mark Wahlberg is also in the works.

Does anyone else find the background music in the MP trailer a little bit disturbing? I want to kill everybody in the world.
Splitscreen and customization is a win win for me. Whoah and the graphics look better also. So much win here. Will they have splitscreen for co-op also?
I wish I was capable of keeping up online, you all batter the crap outta me!!!! Must be being 37.........
split screen is what i was hoping for !! such a small addition but it's definitely appealing to me the most :)
SCEA and Naughty Dog are so awesome! They are releasing Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception on my birthday!
and i was waiting for one of those fps games, that are all the rage these days, to do something similar with the customization. gotta love naughty dog.
@Ronnie_rim I'll pretend you didn't just say that.. Mass effect is good don't get me wrong, but it doesn't have a certain mister Nathan Drake in it.. The real question should be: Uncharted 3 or Skyrim? In which case = both :D
Don't you just love it how the whole world of playstation is linked together? Kratos in Mortal Kombat, Metal Gear Solid in Little Big Planet.. And now they're rewarding me for buying Infamous2 as well by throwing in an Uncharted 3 beta! Gotta love Sony. Gotta love those PS3's :)
I just hope that the third game will be as good as the second one was,,,,,,UNCHARTED 2 was one of the best console video games ever made !!!!!!!!!
July 5? Aw man I won't be home till July 10. Ah well I'm sure(hope so anyway) will still be going by then.
Deffo getting Uncharted 3. 2 was awesome, but I wasnt overally impressed with the multiplayer...it was good, but not brill. Cant wait for 3's Multiplayer...it can only get better right?
On my Birthday? Oh Naughty Dog you shouldn't have you playful minx. For my Christmas present you should take back dev duties for Crash Bandicoot.
I'm definitely getting this game as soon as it comes out. At first I was upset with Naughty Dog for leaving Jak & Daxter behind, but after playing Uncharted 2 and watching this trailer for MP on Uncharted 3 I'm very excited. Naughty Dog is one of the best developers in the world.
Looks like Naughty Dog made the multiplayer as epic and cinematic as the single player. That's a win-win situation right there ladies and gentleman :D
Well that's pretty cool news, for those that like getting into MP. Hope everyone that gets in early enjoys it. :)
Single Player > Multiplayer Red Dead Redemption for reference. Don't get me wrong, the multiplayer was a blast, but it couldn't stand a chance against the thrilling single-player.
Impressive, I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be another GOTY from Naughty Dog. Naughty Dog ftw!
Sweeeet, from the look of that video feature it looks like customization will be a big part of the multiplayer portion which is awesome and i've noticed that it seems like you could even customize your own assault guns!!! This is so cool, so i guess it's sorta like Metal Gear in gun customizing where you can add suppressors, laser sights, lens scopes and flash lights and what not to your guns, dang, this game is shaping up to take the series out with a bang indeed and this is just the multiplayer!!! :)
Hmmm... seemings I Pre-ordered Infamous 2 and I am Playstation Plus maybe ill give my extra Beta Code to a friend?
@HaRdNiPs Actually I prefer Resident evil and Metal Gear :p Gears is probably worse than uncharted, it controls better with sharper aiming and more precise covering but ultimately the story just isn't there. Something that disappointed me by the second game and they tried to inject a small amount of character with dominics wife scene but it wasn't enough. Either way Uncharted doesn't beat Metal Gear :p I know it won't be a shooter but metal gear rising will be a third person sworder so will be a TPS :/ As for uncharted, I never actually bothered with the MP on uncharted 2 but I'll give it a go with uncharted 3 for a small while.
I'm excited. I just love the games that are good enough to make me leave my PC gaming and play a game on the consoles.
More companies need to follow Naughty Dog, they know how to make a game with a good multiplayer and at the same time not ruin the single player mode and still make the single player mode epic and long.
@dkdk999 It just seems like an unnecessary way of directing attention to your post. Again there's no need to tell people to do that when they will thumb up your comment if they agree with it. I've just seen so many comments starting with "like this if..." and "thumbs up if you agree". So yeah, I usually do ignore them, but this time I just couldn't help myself...
@SoNin360 is there anything wrong with doing it besides it annoys you ? I mean why would you be annoyed about something like that ? just ignore my post and move on.
@dkdk999 It really isn't necessary to do that "thumps up" crap. If people agree with your post, they will give it a thumbs up. Sorry that just really annoys me, and I hate to see it especially outside of YouTube. Anyways, I'm looking forward to hopefully an awesome single player and multiplayer. Expectations will be high, and I'm sure Naughty Dog will pull off yet another great Uncharted game.
man, this game looks awesome, but i am not a PS+ member, nor did i buy infamous 2. looks like that's going to change!
@HaRdNiPs Way to show your intelligence by ranking 3 games that aren't even out yet. How about you play them first, then rank them. The first 2 uncharted games were really good, so the 3rd should follow suit, but you can't assume one game is better than the other...unless you are a fanboy who only owns one system. Be a big boy and buy all of the systems, so you can play all of the great games that come out for each!
