The RPG by former Lunar and Grandia developers will be out on PSP; a 3DS version will be released later this year in digital form.

Publisher Xseed Games will be localising the PSP and 3DS RPG Unchained Blades for North American markets. The game will be out for the PSP as a digital download via the PlayStation Store on June 26. The title will be on sale for $29.99.

The 3DS version will be out in digital download form later this year. The RPG was created by developer FuRyu, which consists of former Lunar series director Toshio Akashi and former Grandia series story writer Takashi Hino. The game is tailored as a dungeon crawler RPG with a huge emphasis on story; players can also recruit up to four monsters per party as additional cannon fodder and support.

A sequel to the game, Unchained Blades Exiv, will be out on October 21 in Japan for the PSP and 3DS.

Will this be released on UK PSN Store too? As it's going to be released as a digital download

I also like traditional RPG view, but the extremely prestigious developers, cool looking characters, and great looking story trump that. I will be getting this.

I'm down with first person combat.... but sounds like the whole game is going to be a first person dungeon crawler in the vein of Ultima Underworld or the recent legends of Grimrock? Not as keen on that. Those games tend to be about navigating hyper repetitive maze-style dungeons.

I was excited until I heard it was a first person view like Dragon Warrior. Its just not my thing. I prefer to see my characters fight like in most RPGs. Looks promising if thats what you're into.

Same comment as on Okami, download only, not getting a dime from me. Are you nuts, 30 dollars for gaming code that hold no value. I dont care if this is the greatest game ever made.

What a kick to the nuts for 3DS fans, having to wait so long.  It's going to be the superior version because of it's constantly active map function, yet Xseed delaying the game is going to give the PSP version a massive head start and people will flock to that one instead.  It would be more fair to release them together.
