Unannounced THQ games emerge in bankruptcy filing

Publisher's Chapter 11 document outs Relic's "Atlas," Turtle Rock's "Evolve," "1666" from THQ Montreal, and Vigil Games' "Crawler"; sales projections also revealed.
THQ's recent Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing has revealed a number of unannounced games from the publisher's wholly-owned development teams Relic Entertainment, Turtle Rock Studios, THQ Montreal, and Vigil Games.
According to the document (via Polygon), Relic Entertainment is working on a 2014-dated project under the working title "Atlas." The studio is also working on next year's Company of Heroes 2.
Turtle Rock Studios, whose previous credits include Left 4 Dead and Counter-Strike Source, is working on a co-op multiplayer game called "Evolve." This is not entirely a surprise, as THQ filed a trademark application for Evolve this year.
Additionally, the bankruptcy document reveals THQ Montreal, under the direction of former Assassin's Creed developer Patrice Désilets, is making a game called "1666." THQ trademarked this in March.
Lastly, Darksiders developer Vigil Games is making a game called "Crawler," according to the documents. This is the first mention of its existence anywhere.
In addition to revealing new games from THQ's studios, the Chapter 11 document also provides a glimpse into how successful THQ is expecting these games to be. Lifetime sales projections in millions of units for each of the above titles, and others, are listed below.
Saints Row 4 - 5 million
Company of Heroes 2 - 2 million
Homefront 2 - 4 million
Darksiders II - 2.4 million
WWE '13 - 1.9 million
Metro: Last Light - 1.9 million
South Park: The Stick of Truth - 3.1 million
Evolve - 4 million
1666 - 4 million
Atlas - No specific unit sales figure was provided, though THQ said it expects Atlas to generate $31.6 million in net sales.

1 Like Somebody needs to pick up South Park. I don't care who, but someone. Everything I've seen of that game so far looks great.
A lot of interesting sounding games in there, shame a publisher with so many new IP's up their sleeve is getting the axe
at one point these guys were my absolute favorite. Now i probably wont pick up any of their titles, even the 1 or 2 i might actually want to have played.
Projecting new IP games at 4 million? No wonder they're bankrupt they have no idea how to project revenue.
@Thanatos2k Some companies are still able to pull it off. Look at Halo, GoW, Guitar Hero or even Minecraft. However I don't think that THQ ever did.

@a0me All of those games were right place right time kind of things. Any game on the end of a console lifecycle is never going to pull in that much.

3 Like Since THQ is having financial problems this will probably have a big effect on more Darksiders games. the 2nd one was (IMO) bad ass and i would like to be able to play as the two remaining horsemen.
2 Like Both Darksiders were fantastic & a much needed breath of fresh air (was a bit miffed about the lack of collectibles in 2 as opposed to 1 but it was a small matter). As someone who's long lamented the disappearance of the Soulreaver IP & its mixture of combat, puzzling & platforming Darksiders 1 & 2 were an excellent revival of that classic mix of gaming. I just hope that this sad news doesn't mean the end for any hope of a Darksiders 3.
Hope this works beneficially and they get back on their feet. Looking froward to Saints Row 4 and Metro: Last Light.
I doubt Saints Row 4 will sell THAT much after how ridiculous Saints Row: The Third was/
7 Like @shooters125 What are you talking about? SR3 was the biggest hit that THQ have ever did in Sales. SR3 was the best game I have ever played in my whole life, because it was entirely intended to be ridiculous fun, unlike this boring and realistic thing we have nowadays. That game is unique.
Can't wait to see what Evolve is all about. Turtle Rock have made some great multiplayer games in the past, so I see no reason for this title to get as little attention as it does.
Darksiders 2 Was A bit of a letdown, the 1st one was cool, good but nothing we havent PLAY. I really was especting a Lot from DS2. So if THQ dissapear, i no longer care. One last chance? South park The Stick of thruth
@victorlamy if its still being made by CRYTEK... and it is of their quality....then 4 million seems likely

Yea i doubt that Company of Heroes 2 will sell 2 million, but i've always loved THQ and i wish them all the best

small companies like CD Projekt Red Studio bearly made 2 mil until now
and games like mass effect 3 make 1.85 in the first WEEK!
that's insane how under-developed games sell more then actually really high-end games with amazing storyline and RPG elements (not to mention the cheap price tag,awesome gameplay and etc...)
seriously there is always much better games then your generic rich publishers
2 Like @thequickshooter I think you're sugar-coating things a little bit. While THQ lately has been really impressing me and I think in the last couple years they've really turned a new leaf, THQ and Activision used to be the real cancer in the video game industry prior to EA acquiring *everything.* THQ and Activision used to put out (mostly) tons of *really* bad licensed cash-ins for movies and tv shows, especially from Nickelodeon and occasionally Disney (this is after Disney stopped being known for consistently amazing games). It's unfortunate that now that they've started putting out better games, they're struggling to keep their heads above water.
7 Like @thequickshooter Simple answer, they have a massive advertising budget and EA/Activision buy up or absorb developers who spent years making amazing games and good will. They are more like a parasite in this manner.
okay people Homefront isnt a bad game at all.... in fact a sequel being made by CRYTEK is a godsend..... the only problem with HOMEFRONT is its criminally short length (I clocked in a bit less than 5 hours last time I played through) it has TONS of potential.... just it should have been in CRYTEK's hand from the begining (more open world, longer campaign, better graphics, and of course a harder game in general)
All I want is SP: The Stick of Truth. The game looks hilarious. I haven't even play Saint's Row yet, so I'm not even thinking about the 4th game.
