UK Game Charts: October 7-14

FIFA 07 still holding on to the top slot for a third week, Scarface: The World Is Yours debuts at number two.

There were many surprises in the UK charts this week--that FIFA 07 was at number one for a third week running wasn't one of them. The EA Sports game was able to beat the opposition, and despite a sales dip of 52 percent, was still ahead on the field of the UK All-formats chart.

Scarface: The World Is Yours shoved its way in to the number two spot, making it the highest new entry in this week's charts. Consequently, Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy moved back down again to number three. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 took two steps back to five, and Cars swerved to a rest also down two spots at eight.

Last week saw few new entrants, but there is a healthy round of debuts this week. There was one other new entry in the top 10--Championship Manager 2007 at number nine--and three others in the top 40. Open Season came in at 17 and Microsoft Flight Simulator at 19. Garfield 2 managed to just claw into the charts at number 40.

A few titles stayed exactly where they were, including Just Cause at four, Project Gotham Racing 3 at 10, and The Da Vinci Code at 36.

Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training is on the move again, heading up one place from last week to seven. The good doctor has plenty to be smiling about, on his 19th week in the UK charts. It was one of only two titles moving upward this week, the other being the irrepressibly successful Sims 2.

Next week will see, among others, the release of highly anticipated titles including Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent, The Sims 2: Pets, Football Manager 2007, and Battlefield 2142.

you people realise this is the UK charts NOT the European charts! and its also multi platform.

Fifa deserves to be top of the charts .. Fifa 06 was so bad that Fifa 07 is like buying a whole new game .. the name of that game is Pro evo 2 .. trouble is pro evo 6 is out in a few weeks ... after that fifa deserves to go in the bargain bin . Once again ... please remember that UK charts are multi format so just cos it says PS2 most of the time it means PS2,Xbox,GC,DS,GBA,PC ... saves having 9 versions of Madden making up the 10 ten like the Us charts this time of year. the only rubbish game in the top 10 is Championship Manager .... why oh why would you waste your money ... !!

For goodness sake I don't even have to look at it to know that all the games on it are s**t. I looked... Yep, UK taste is embarassingly poor but it's nice to see brain age up there possibly paving the way for Wii?

Kingdom Hearts II gone down to 6 now. I thought it would do much better, but I guess people in the UK prefer their soccer games so I'm not really surprised that Fifa is number 1.

Cars must be considered AAA in the UK. I hope the Wii version of Cars does well to :)

Hopefully next week cars will finally be gone because there cant be too many kids left that havent got the game.

meimnobody: totally agree. I suspect that the charts shown and linked at the ELSPA site are actually more accurate than the GameSlpot charts. Unfortunately you will find yourself arguing against the worlds largest idiots to get your point across. Just ignore the inaccuracy of the charts and let the idiots argue.

Once again gamespot misrepresents the UK charts. UK charts combines all versions of a game into one listing not by console like the NPD does. The chart track website says the top ten is the all format chart. ALL FORMAT. FIFA is on all platforms.
