Pro Evo 6 shoots and scores, in at number one with highest UK first-week sales for two years; five other new entries including Canis Canem Edit.
Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 6 (also known as Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007) has sold the most in a game's first week in the UK since Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas debuted two years ago. Those sales see it slip comfortably into the number one slot on the UK all-formats game chart.
FIFA 07's Xbox 360 version joins the game's seven other formats to help keep the title at number two, with sales up 96 percent on last week.
Rockstar Games' Canis Canem Edit (known as Bully outside of the UK) was the second-highest new entry at number five. Bully and PES6 are among seven other newbies this week, including Guild Wars: Nightfall at 15, Singstar Legends at 24, and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon at 27.
There are five titles heading upward, including Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07, up one place to eight; Buzz! The Big Quiz, up four to 14; and Destroy All Humans 2, which went up two places to 19.
The biggest loser of the week is Kingdom Hearts 2, falling a massive 16 places to 32, with The Godfather down 14 to 37, and The Sims 2: Glamour Life Stuff almost out of the charts completely, down 13 to 39.
Next Friday (if UK retailers can manage to stick to the release dates) will see the release of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War expansion pack Dark Crusade, Neverwinter Nights 2, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2, Need for Speed Carbon, and Desperate Housewives: The Game.

Maybe Cars has been bolstered by the DVD release. Did it just come out over there? Just pointing out that with all the negative Sony press lately and still 6 games in the top ten, it just goes to show that MOST gamers dont read gamespot all the time like us. Sonys image to the mainstream is probably still pretty favourable. Looking forward to PES on XB.
lol do you guys realise that UK invented football and it's their national sport?.. besides who doesn't love football, it's the most popular sport in the world and I'm not talking about "American football" - aka - rugby ripoff... just, look at this for proof- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_sport
ps2 rules.................6 games are on the list x360 flops as usual......PES is there but just for this week
Cars still in the top ten???? JEBUS!!! and im suprised to see Bully not in the top 3, thought this game would appeal to loads of uk ppl.Well it probably does....
Cars is almost gone!!!! Hopefully Need For Speed will get rid of it next week. Although Dawn of War could do good too, if the people I know are anything to go by it will sell well.
This is UK only. They must really love their football games to nab the top two spots and how many more people need to buy that Cars game. I was looking at the game charts for all of Europe in my local game shop the other day and they are completely different from it.
God, no wonder Square Enix don't like UK, we never buy their games. I brought Kingdom Hearts II... :(
