isnt making shooter games like cod and moh always top kinda counter productive? i mean its as if there incuriging us to be murders and want wars i mean maybe thats why there fighting out there now? to make more video games for us, i mean shooters like cod are alright but it sucks with all moders and noobs. i think ninja storm 2 should be in top 3, its diffrent its always changing the grapics are slick you cant beat that for an anime. and whats also better then cod and and moh? oh its not the same every time cod got rubisher nothing changed accept guns and same with moh
EA's troubled shooter takes top spot ahead of the firm's all-conquering sports franchise; Just Dance 2 takes up residence in top 10, entering at three.
Despite--or perhaps helped by--calls for it to be banned from British Defence Secretary Liam Fox, and a critical reception that was not quite as favourable as EA had hoped, sales for Medal of Honor seem to be doing well. The present-day military shooter has take the top spot in the UK chart in its first week on sale, with the Xbox 360 versions leading the way with over 50 percent of copies sold. FIFA falls from its perch at the top of the chart to complete an EA one-two, keeping its nose in front of Just Dance 2, the Wii-exclusive dance game from Ubisoft.
Nintendo's Wii Party climbed from 10 to four, while last week's number two--Pro Evolution Soccer 2011--fell three places to five, with the PS3 version outselling the Xbox 360 variant almost two-to-one. Codemasters' F1 2010 slipped a further two places to six, while Dead Rising 2's three-week residence of the number three spot was interrupted as it fell four places to seven. Halo: Reach slipped down to eight in its fifth week on the chart.
Namco Bandai secured the week's final new entry into the top 10 with Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2, which snuck in at number nine. Completing the chart was Konami's Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, which slipped to 10 after debuting at six last week.
Further down the chart, Borderlands reentered at 35 with its Game of the Year Edition, which comes bundled with all of the shooter-cum-RPG's downloadable content and early access to the beta of the highly anticipated and exceptionally long-awaited Duke Nukem Forever, with the Xbox 360 version outselling the PS3 alternative by more than two-to-one.
Whenever a new shooter comes out the COD-haters love to say its better then Modern Warfare 2. I hope these sad people will one day realise the fact that MW2 remains one of the most popular games in the world online no matter what EA thinks. Haters gonna hate I guess.
@africa_forever unlike COD this is based on real events. in the opening credits you hear them talking about 9/11. suppose the people that died that day are rubbish too.
I wish the xbox 360 version of MoH came with an HD version of MoH: Frontline...:( I love that game, I still listen to the soundtrack like crazy.
@pszone I think the reason Borderlands GOTY edition hasn't really sold, as most people have bought the DLC's off marketplace and downloaded them. Considering its a great game, I have it and a 3 of the main DLC's I would only pay £40 for the GOTY edition for a brand new disk, and maybe the final DLC thats just come out.
MOH is not better than the COD Series. MOH failed just look at the reviews. COD will remain on top cause they are well made.
@Hanzoadam damn u might actually be right. Except some themes in the campaign for the COD franchise kids wont understand...
I'm glad Naruto is up there. Truly one of the best Anime fighting games out there and the graphics and gameplay is truly amazing.
I love single player more than multi player and MW2'S single player left a lot to be desired, very disjointed. Hopefully Treyarch will deliver on a good single player campaign that is not all over the place. Tough call on which game i like better the original COD or Frontline, it's a toss up!
@EPhoenix17 Why would you buy Medal of Honor when Black Ops is coming out? Because Call of duty is for children
it was much better than any cod game eaven tho it was only like 4 hours long and i think the people or person tryin to get this game baned need to grow the hell up didnt poeple try to get mass effect 1 banned aswell coza sum stupid lezbo scene u can do idiots the lot of em... any way i am verru glad to see the game doing so well and its an amazeing experiance and ic done it on every difficulty setting includeing tier 1 workin through that mode now
Also glad to see the game doing well. Just finished the campaign of MOH and I have to say I truly enjoyed it. Loved how it was more real world and not over the top as the horrible confusing story line from MW2 was. Best part about it was how well paced it was moving from one mission to the next. Only problem I had was how short it was, that bothered me. Will give multi player a shot soon to see how that is. Also can't wait to play Frontline again, one of my favorite ps2 games, can't wait storm the beach again!
I'm really enjoying MoH. I've played through the single player twice already yet I didn't spend more than two hours on MW2's single player campaign, it wasn't even worth finishing. I've spent a good 10 hours online with MoH so far as well, I didn't even spend more than 2 on MW2. Sure, the online component only has a few modes and not enough maps or weapons, but it's still so damn fun. I think Black Ops will certainly be better though, it looks like Treyarch have put so much more effort into Black Ops than IW did with MW2. It's just a shame I've already vowed to never put money into Kotick's pocket ever again, I'll be sitting that one out.
glad MoH is holding up well, the critics were unreasonably harsh on this game in my opinion, the singleplayer is pretty poor from what iv played, but the multiplayer really holds its own, its managed to create a nice little place for itself with a playstyle that sits somewhere between MW2 and Bad Company 2
pp are buying poor games what hit big what you get bored a lot i dont thing betas work in full games packs look what happn to borderlines game of the year no one buy it as all much so i guess it does not work whats ganna happen next another poor no1 game lol
@jenguando how is it haram you r just killing the bad terroist taliban i am a muslim like you but how is it haram you just kill the evil people
@drummerdickens I'm not picking holes,it just seemed rather naive that you'd say that all the fps games look the same because they are fps games. That was all.
Great campaign and story...bad problems with AI and very short! I've already beat the campaign twice and I'm not a harcore gamer. I looked forward to this game all year, since I know people that are in the war and that were affected by 911. In my opinnion the muliplayer wasn't that great, it was ok. I liked the campaign much better. I thought since Dice made BFBC2 that it would be similar with some great adds....not really. All in all I think it's definately worth a play through since the story is good, graphics are pretty good, sound and voice acting are amazing. But rent it or wait for it to go on sale before you plunk down $60.
jimlad180......Yeah thats what i think mate, noticed the fanboys got it in for your comment though lol
Multiplayer is OK at best, and the story is rubbish and pointless... best just to wait for cod. At least you know your getting a good multiplayer and single player story.
@gmreedy I meant this week ;) although it shows that halo is dropping and wii party is still going ;)
Game is crap. Multiplayer is crap. Maybe when the price comes down to $15 in six months I'll pick it up for the short single player campaign.
Good to see MOH up there. Despite the hate its been getting, Im liking it so far. The multiplayer mode holds its own when against competition like Call of Duty.
@sebFlyte I retract my original statement. RPG-cum-shooter is funnier. @LeoLex_ Flagged have a nice day :)
@zanelli What's there doesn't sound rude. If I'd put it as RPG-cum-shooter you might have a point (though that would still be correct.)
@harry_daniel200 WHAT CHARM!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? will everyone wake up from their HALO coma already and relise "OH YEAH IT'S A PIECE OF ST"
Yeah SUCK it, critics! That's what EA is thinkin' right now with MoH. Despite rather subpar reviews (and vowing to not pay off critics for good reviews :P), the game is selling quite well.
Its a shame Enslaved didn't make it into the charts as it's such a good game, I think more people should give it a shot. If you're a fan of Action Adventure games in particular you won't be disappointed.
This will no doubt be true , i was also one of the thousands of hardcore shooter fans to look past all the bad reviews that seemed to be plaguing MoH, but the truth is, after getting this game home an smashing multiplayer for 10 hours an 5 chapters of campaign , the heights of frustration know no bounds, EA have FKD up here massively, the hardcore mode is a joke, still takin half a mag to drop someone, and the campaign is about as exciting as Steve Davis's collection of 1970's carpet samples.......i gave this game ago but is gettin FKD off. its really bad ppl. So the game may have sold well at the start of the week, it is MoH after all and cause of all the hardcore fans, but lets see a trading in chart an i'll bet this pile of ST is right up there by the end of this week. Sort out ya Hardcore mode for Battlefield 3 yeah!!!!!
@mario-nin-freak No, Wii Party did not sell more than Reach. The stats above are showing sales of games over this past week, of which Wii Party sold more than Reach (Week of 10/11/10). Overall, Wii Party's TOTAL sales are puny in comparison to Halo Reach's over 3 million sold.
MoH's multiplayer is it's main selling point, it holds it's own against BC2 and MW2. I haven't even started the singelplayer yet. On a further note shouldn't it be shooter-come-rpg, what you put sounds rude lol
'moh' is bad, i owe it and i must say im very dissapointed...as for fifa2011 its even worse. srry to say, but its true really!!
@MEDzZ3RO Dude, what do you want me to say. I just said "I'm bored of FPS", what's your issue with that? And FYI, I have 10 days accumulated on MW2 and around 10 accumulated on Bad Company 2. I'm just saying I think the games market is FPS saturated and for the meantime, I'm done with it. I am genuinely impressed you've managed to pick holes in my statement "I'm bored of shooters".
A bit surprising considering that no red caps are in the game or even being mentioned... Who cares anyways..
