Black Ops II rises to second, The Walking Dead charts at ninth, and Persona 4 Arena fails to make the top 10.
Dead Island: Riptide has managed a third week atop the UK charts, albeit with a 55 percent drop in sales.
It is the second game of the year to manage three weeks at number one, following BioShock Infinite back in March.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II jumps to second place thanks to cut-price promotions, followed by Tomb Raider in third and Injustice: Gods Among Us in fourth.
FIFA 13 is fifth, BioShock Infinite sixth, Assassin's Creed III seventh, and Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins eighth.
The highest new entry of the week came from The Walking Dead in ninth, a disc-based version of Telltale's episodic game based on the comic series that was previously available digitally.
Luigi's Mansion 2 landed in tenth, denying new release Persona 4 Arena a top 10 finish in its first week on sale.

Martin Gaston has absolutely never at all had the song from Beauty and the Beast sung to him at any point during his life, ever.
Its understandable. A small percent go off professional reviews and go off friends comments etc. GS review was harsh and with the world loving zombie based anything it will sell. A lot have obv enjoyed this game and past the word on, so it will sell.
Again, seriously?! I'm starting to think that the U.K. has bad taste in games.
And why does the list look so dated? Some of those games released a LONG time ago!
Tomb Raider is still selling well but Square Enix is still whining. Are they greedy or what? They want everyone to buy it day 1?

1 Like The only reason why I love the Dead Island series is that they use random Profanity words and I enbjoy games that uses them which makes the game even awesome. Dead Island: Riptide deserves to be No. 1 on the spot and no I'm not British, I'm U.S.
As long as a game has gore or blood in it the game will always sell well. The new Dead Island is garbage and the only reason people bought it was because of the things mentioned.

I did enjoy the first one but the game wasn't worth more then a rental to me. What I really want is L4D3

5 Like sucks to see such a great,complete,epic and entertaining game as DD;DA that actually focuses on gameplay(also only 40$ for all the content that you get) only in 13th place. Videogame industry is just as worse as the music industry. Brainless sheeps dominate.
@OuTLaWzGaming Seems like Crapcom fooled you properly. DD:DA is a rehash of the original game with an extra DLC content priced at nearly a full price tag.
Sure it is a good offering for people who didn't buy it previously (who are the minority) but in reality it is yet another Crapcom's shameless money grubbing move to cash on the fans by forcing them to pay 40$ for a game they already have just to play the extra content which unfortunately isn't nowhere near as good as to justify a 40$ purchase.
If you bought it again regardless, then I sadly have to inform you that you are the brainless sheep.

6 Like I actually just finished Dead Island Riptide. I enjoyed it more than a lot of triple A games I've played recently. I disagree with the Nay Sayers talking about people being dumb for buying the game.
I liken this game to the old Godzilla movies. From a technical standpoint, they were B movies. The plots were predictable and shallow. The acting left something to be desired. But those were some great movies. Despite the fact that they would never be awarded an Oscar, they were just funny and entertaining. And that's why I watched them.
It's the same with dead Island. The game was fun and entertaining. I had more fun playing it than the critically acclaimed Bioshock Infinite. This is why I play video games, to have fun and be entertained.
1 Like This is attributed to the fact that right now there is really no GOOD games out, other then Bioshock which has been out for months. People get bored and are willing to settle for something new whether or not it is good. After eating nothing but bread for a month that bologna sandwich will look pretty good. YUM
6 Like I see that Tomb Raider is steadily climing to number 1 posiotion. Its great because game rocks. I was playing it yesterday collecting items I missed on my first playthrough and it is amazing ! I want more games like this. People buy the game get it to number 1 and lets hope that Crystal Dynamics will do sequel to this best franchise reboots in history.
2 Like The success of the Dead Island series just shows us how the masses will buy into anything as long as it has a cool looking trailer. It amazes me how so many people got fooled by that first trailer. So much so that even the second game sold well. I laughed at the people that got hyped for the first game based on that misleading trailer back when that trailer first got released. I laughed even harder when the game turned out to be a disappointment, and laughed when people actually bought it. But now even the sequel is selling well?
Ok the joke is over now. It's not funny anymore. You're all sending a horrible, horrible message. Developers can make any garbage game they like but as long as it has a cool cinematic trailer people will still buy it. That's an absolutely awful message to send. It was funny for a while, but now it's just sad.
@burgeg Actually, the first Dead Island is a perfectly good little game. It's tonally all over the place, with some moments that do shoot for emotional impact (Jin's arc) and others that really don't, but the core gameplay is solid. I picked it up on a Steam Sale and it was Ł6 well spent. I plan to do the same with Riptide.
By all means though, keep telling everyone how terrible it is. If they believe you, it'll go onto sale price faster. :)

6 Like @burgeg Eh, not sure that everyone bought it because of the trailer. Do you have some kind of proof of that? My guess is that a lot of people like the gameplay, which is why they bought the second.
Should also be mentioned that Aliens is still making it's fare share of bank even after the fact that it has been outed as one of the worst things to happen in the gaming industry in 2013.
1 Like I think this is just a sign of co-op games being highly popular. Even if the game is a half baked expansion with glitches like riptide. It's still fun with a friend. I highly doubt this game would be selling without the co-op feature. The singleplayer is just boring as hell.
