A new game based on the popular drama series is making its way to the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and Wii on October 27; it was written and developed by the show's original writers.
Ubisoft has revealed that it is working on a game adaptation of the popular television crime drama NCIS, currently in its ninth season on the CBS network.
The game--slated for release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii on October 27, 2011--will feature four NCIS episodes written by the writers of the original series. Players will be able to take control of characters from the series (agents Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Ziva David, Tony DiNozzo, Timothy McGee, Abby Sciuto, and Ducky Mallard) and use their individual skill sets to solve four interconnected cases by collecting and analyzing clues, performing autopsies, and interrogating suspects. Environments featured in the game include Atlantic City and Dubai.
According to Ubisoft, a Nintendo 3DS version of the game will be released exclusively in EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) territories.
According to CBS, NCIS currently averages 20 million primetime viewers and airs in 120 territories worldwide.
CBS and its digital media arm, CBS Interactive, is the parent company of GameSpot.
@Scorpion1813 I agree with you. I'm a huge fan of the series, and I have the game on my iPod Touch, but that game is all investigation and no combat. I would LOVE to see an NCIS game that combines investigation (like in the CSI games) and some kind of third-person shooter mechanics (like, say, Uncharted). The graphics look terrible, but if Ubisoft includes shooting mechanics, then we might have ourselves a decent game! After all, NCIS isn't all investigation! There's some pretty good combat sequences too!
"CBS and its digital media arm, CBS Interactive, is the parent company of GameSpot." So no negative reviews then?? Regardless of how bad the game may be. I really hope this turns out to be a good game. I've been wanting a NCIS game for ages now - a game that is a mixture of the investigation (similar to CSI games), and a 1st/3rd person shooter. From this article it seem that the game is investigation only. But the video shows platforming, but still no shooting. 'Tis a shame.
OH GOD *facepalm* First Ubisoft makes all those boring "CSI" video games and now since everyone has stop buying them, Ubisoft has decided to make half ass "NCIS" games, until they decide to make crappy ass "Criminal Minds". Plus it graphically it looks like a 2005 Xbox 360 game and that's not a compliment.
@blueboxdoctor Agreed, I Am Alive looked great, but let's not forget Ubisoft is one of those "money first" kind of companies. Don't expect great things out of it.
thanks ubisoft, for making a game based off of another boring crime drama. I guess they don't really care about getting I Am Alive out anytime soon. Would it have killed them to pick a good tv show, like doctor who mixed with torchwood, which is just begging to become a game.
I wouldnt mind it as an arcade game but there is no way I am buying this at the full priced 60 dollars.
Honestly, this sounds about as appealing as Activision releasing "Bed of Nails Hero; Masochistic Yogi Edition" with a full spiky-metal peripheral. I lied. Bed of Nails Hero would be way more awesome than this.
oh yeah I do enjoy the spin-off of the show which is pretty good (NCIS:LA), I'm just hoping that Hetty is alright cause I don't like the girl that as come to maybe replace her.
I used to like the show but got a little boring and sour, but I might check this game out if the price is right.
I really hope they can pull it off, I love the show. It's the only thing that got me away from Gears tuesday.
they shouldn't have made a wii version or even a 3Ds version if they were serious about making this game..
Eek.. It seems L.A. Noire's influence / success has encouraged a bit of a trend. best of luck to the writers and developers on this one. But I personally struggle to be excited about this.
OK, so this show has been rated one of the top shows on network television, but why in God's name would anybody want to play a video game based on it? Horrible idea. This makes as much sense as a video game based off of House M.D. If you want to play a top quality detective game, pick up LA Noire. This is going to turn into another crapperific game. Seriously... who actually green lights and finances these kinds of games? Who actually thought "oh man, I love NCIS! And I'd LOVE to play a video game based on it! I'm going to finance the tv to game adaptation!"
Terrible show and soon to be terrible game. The only good games to ever come from a tv show has been a couple simpsons games
I am a really big fan of NCIS. :D Looks pretty good from the trailer. I wish Ubisoft the best of luck. :)
