Ubisoft confirms Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon will launch May 1

Far Cry 3 spin-off officially confirmed two days after the full version of the game is leaked online.
Ubisoft has officially confirmed that its Montreal studio is developing the oft-rumoured Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and that the game will be available for digital download on May 1.
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon will be released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, and Ubisoft says the spin-off contains around eight hours of original content. The game features a single open-world island to explore, with many of Far Cry 3's gameplay systems and mechanics making a return, such as hunting, gathering numerous collectibles, and liberating outposts.
The original Far Cry 3 will not be required in order to play Blood Dragon.
Information about the '80s-themed Far Cry 3 spin-off has been leaked numerous times, starting with a listing on the Brazilian classification ratings group and culminating in more than 30 minutes of footage of the game appearing online.
Earlier this week hackers managed to break open Ubisoft's digital PC platform uPlay and get free access to its games, including the currently unreleased Blood Dragon. Ubisoft has temporarily closed the service while it works on a fix.

Buy this game please everyone, I'm not kidding. It is not a joke, it is easily one of the top 3 best FPS games of all time, and I'm not kidding at all. 10/10. $15. So this isn't a DLC? It's just a standalone Arcade game like they did with Dead Rising 2? Woot! I was concerned I was going to have to rent FC3 again to get the DLC achievements and maintain my 100% completion. It's lookin' like no more achievements may be coming for this game, so far so good.

This might not be for the younger folk or multiplayer people, but if you were born in the 80's or earlier and enjoy classic action movies (the one liner kind) this game is gonna be right up your alley. Do not watch gameplay videos of this on youtube you're just gonna spoil it for yourself. The beauty of this game is the classic references to some of the the best (or worst) action movies of all time. I loved the movie Predator and this game had me from the start. Enjoy!
I said before, if there's no map editor, then I want nothing to do with this. This game will clearly appeal to non-Far Cry fans that think that know everything about Far Cry. But that's how the gaming community is, people that love to talk out of their asses.
@Strider8009 Wait. People actually played the multiplayer in Far Cry 3? I dominated the single player, kicked the Co-ops ass, got 100% of the achievements, than tried a few multiplayer maps and realized what crap it was and sold off the game. FC multiplayer hasn't been fun since the original. Even the FC:I multiplayer and map maker on the original Xbox were better than the MP in FC3.
@DarkReign2552 @Strider8009 I'm not saying that what Ubi Soft has done to map editor in Far Cry 3 was great, it's really disappointing, especially when compare to the predecessors.
Most of the map making community gave up on Far Cry 3 due to how poor it is.
Is anybody who has a dissenting opinion from your own instantly deemed a troll? Most reviews didn't care much for the multiplayer and maps extend the longevity of this game, but to what extent if the multiplayer was not that great? I have played FarCry since the first, on PC and instincts for Xbox...FarCry 3 and blood dragon are great games. Blood dragon is fun because its an 80's homage to the action hero movies. It's hilarious to hear the main characters one liners. I respect that you want a map editor but I am just trying to tell you you're gonna miss out on a great game. If the gameplay is good enough that you want a map editor, than the game itself should be at least worth playing for the gameplay. I plan on paying for the copy i have once it's legally released.

If a game is good I will buy it and support the developers. Hell I bought 3 copies of Bioshock infinite, gave them all to friends because I enjoyed that game so much. 3 Like I really liked Farcry 3, and the concept of this spin-off is positively insane. I'm super interested and for me this is definitley a day one DL. I'd love to see more developers take chances with quirky aesthetic concepts like this. In my experiences with games, playing "the same old thing" with a radical and creative direction can potentially turn a "been here, done that" game into a memorable one.
