@MOwens9512 i did not troll, get your fact straight idiot. SCEA is a publisher here, they did not develop this game.
Initial production run of vehicular combat series' PS3 debut to feature free downloadable copy of PS2 predecessor's original offline version.
Those who plunk down for the latest Twisted Metal will be able to take an older model of the franchise for a spin as well. In a post on the PlayStation Blog today, codirector David Jaffe announced that the first run of Twisted Metal for the PlayStation 3 would include vouchers to download 2001's Twisted Metal Black.
Twisted Metal Black was the first PlayStation 2 installment in the franchise and, as the name suggests, employed a darker tone and atmosphere than previous versions on the original PlayStation. Although Black was rereleased the following year with online multiplayer support as a promotion for the PS2 network adapter peripheral, Jaffe said the version included with the first printing of Twisted Metal would be the original, offline edition.
The first installment in the series since 2008's Twisted Metal: Head-On - Extra Twisted Edition for the PlayStation 2, Twisted Metal is being developed by Jaffe and many of the series' original developers at Eat Sleep Play. Besides a campaign mode, the game will sport two-player split-screen action, as well as online battles.

This game is going to be awesome, but I'm going to wait to get it. I just have way to much to play right now. SSX, Skyrim and Kingdoms of Amular are going to eat up a significant amount of my time.
blood drive is similar to this game except its very hard to control the cars in blood drive and the game is impossible to find. the cars go flying tons of feet in the air lol but after u get use to it its a ok game.
they been working on this a long time so i hope it pays off and they dont sell out and make a crap game because some of the first twisted metals were the best car games ever and then the controls got sloppy and sluggish when that other company took over. i think this ones going to be great. black was a great game
That's a great idea to add Twisted Metal:Black with this copy of the game. This being so people who are new to the franchise can get a background of Twisted Metal. :)
@mastergundam lol thank you for the obvious trolling statement. Appreciate the "wit." I know it must have taking a considerable effort to come up with that. Cheers to you.
If it were published by EA, they'll "forget" to put in codes in their copies for Black and make up for it by letting everyone buy a map pack that's probably already on disc a week early.
I remember Twisted metal Black being heavily censored In a lot of countries (the UK where I live being one) Wonder if we actually get the character Bios and Cutscenes this time around.
I was sick of car combat games when Twisted Metal Black came out. I played twisted 1 and 2 as well as Vigilante 8 so much during the PS1 era, I was burnt out. I was thinking about picking this new Twisted Metal up, and this is just icing on the cake.
I will say this, one area Sony seems to be doing well in is putting out new games of a series (be it a reboot or continuation) and adding older versions to give those who missed out a chance to check out its roots. I definitely hope they keep up a positive trend like this.
@aniemouse Off topic, I know.... "Fanboyism" aside, it has to be said I can't think of a real reason to own a 360 now. I have one and it hasn't been used in months. If you're not into Gears Of War and Halo what does it really offer that the others don't? The Wii, PS3 and even PC are getting a much stronger flow of first party titles including new IPs as of late but the 360 doesn't seem to be getting anything. If Microsoft lost Gears as an exclusive they'll be in big trouble, the sad truth is it's quite likely too now the trilogy is over and that Epic own the IP. Granted, if you're a huge motion control gamer, Microsoft are doing loads with Kinect..... great? Back on topic, does anybody know if Black will have trophy support? I assume so on the basis Frontline did.
Twisted Metal is going to be awesome! The gameplay trailers look awesome and I'm sure the online will be great aswell.
man i cant wait why anyone would own a xbox is beyond me, any store you walk into and say hey im looking for a xbox they should say ok, take your money and kick you in the balls and call it even
when i see a video like this that make me laugh when i read:ps3 title suck........LOL at you fanboyz
I have no doubt that Twisted Metal and Diablo 3 will be the most addictive and fun multiplayer games of 2012. Can't wait to get my hands on them!!!!!
i was going to comment on something about battlefield 3's free game promotion...but the trailer made me completly forget everything i was going to say lol i'm to go listen to rob zombie now
They should seriously just make a collectors edition with sweet tooth's ice cream truck, can't wait for this!
I dont know what to say, just epic, an old franchise returns!!! I always thought what happened to Twisted Metal, now my questions are answered, ITS BACK!!!
This game will be the best game of 2012. I'm glad to see that they're taste in music hasn't changed. The only thing that was good about TM3 and TM4 was the music. 989 studios wrecked Twisted Metal and Jet Moto.
Sony just did yet another good deed and (along with Nintendo and EA) withdrew their support from SOPA. That is, at the very least the game division of Sony doesn't support it anymore.
The PS2 game left me so disturbed... I just wanna play this one b/c my "disturbia" is now a craving :s

Wow this is like hitting 2 birds in 1 stone. So does this mean that the Twisted Metal: Black will be released as a refreshed PS3 HD? I will definitely buy this game. Blu-ray + 2 games + PS3 Exclusive = WINNER!!!
I still have good memories from playing twisted metal 4 on PSone , so I just hope that everything will be awesome like it was back then, with more blood, good stories and car crashes, so can't wait for TM and TMB)
