I think 3D model of Hong Kong is too hard, they can't restore a real hong kong by acceptable money. You can see the city in the game. It's impressionism but not real. Even HSBC Building and Bank Of China building are very different from real. But if you look at GTA4 or PGR4, the buildinig of New York is very real

Rockstar plz take True Crime Hong Kong From Activision and release it

True Crime is an epic series, I was disappointed to hear TCHK got canceled, we should make a petition.

Dumbest idea ever to cancel such an epic game !! It would definitely be a blockbuster !!! But instead the company decided to lose more fans by cancelling this game and consequently more money!! Activision you fail!! p.s. -Whoever took that decision should be fired from the company!!

Fed up of game developers these days they sit around over hype their games for months on end then they scrap them its freaking retarded dont even try and tell me its economy because i think the video game buisness is most likely at their height because of it ive bought more games than ever before because of it.

@wedran123 Eeeeeeexactly! what a punch to the junk Activision gave to people when the pulled the plug on games that were to this day STILL making nether loads of money, and I remember talking to some GTA fanboys (and yes I use that term has HEAVILY as I can) and even THEY thought that True Crime Hong Kong looked like it could deliver, and were actually disappointed when they heard it was cancelled! Way to go Activision, you have offically lost 10% of your fans, 75% if you don't count the ages 8-6.

I'm REALLY mad at Activision. I was really looking forward to True Crime and so were a lot of other people. Activision was dumb on this decision and you can tell when they made remarks like they did it to ensure the enhancement of gameplay (when in fact True Crime would've been a step up) and it wasn't good enough (when look at how many people were disappointed on the cancellation news AND they're only referring off of how the previous True Crimes did.) They're definitly dumb too in making the decision so late, wasting all of United Front's time and effort. Bottom line, Activision should've just released it, made the money they could off of it and judge how good it would've been off of THAT.

@blakeney They can cancel the game, but they can't dismantle Bungie, because they're not actually tied to Activision in a way that would allow that to happen. I think Bungie would even maintain rights to the IP they created as well. I mean, yeah they could sue them out of business, but who takes Activision's lawsuits seriously nowadays?

@coylenintendo I don't think it's a matter of people not having a life, but when it's someone's hobby they're bound to have views on it (hence becoming a member on here). We're the consumers after all, without us the game industry wouldn't exist. I come on here every lunch break at work. It's escapism!

@GunBladeHero If activision managed to secure take-two things would only get worse. I used to like the company (EA was always my pet hate) but lately Activision seem the worse of the two. In fact EA is slowly clawing back it's respect. I just hate all these 'add-ons' that are already on the disk and you pay for the unlock code. It's a joke. And an insult.

@SnakeEyesX80 You not think not fully owning, means that activision dont have enough to dismatle a team? Imo having ANY ownership is too much when it comes to Activision/Bobby, they are powerful enough corporately to do anything once they have a claw in it!

I kinda liked true crime for all its differences. But the thing that litulary made me turn it off and sell it straight away, was right near the end when all of a sudden you are fighting some huge demon/dragon....... that moment was/is proberly one of my biggest "game let downs" ever!

also, fans can blame themselves. not Activision. when a series doesn't sell good, you get rid of it. that's how it is for basically how it is for almost any company out there. that's life, get over it or just stop playing video games. COD is what's hot right now and yeah sure, it'll more than likely die down eventually. but that's when the next big series comes along, there's plenty of other video games to play out there people.

lol it's so funny to see all of the people crying over video games. I mean yeah I love video games too but some people just won't learn that there's more to life. I honestly give credit to Activision. why spend money on continuing series like Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero that have been going down hill over the past few years? why spend money on a crappy series like True Crime that has been bad since the beginning? there probably would have been more to do in GTA III then there would have been in this new True Crime game.

alright, people commenting this need to shut up already. seriously. Streets Of LA was a low budget version of GTA with MUCH less to do within the game. the second game, NYC, wasn't any better. Activision made a smart move and realized it's pointless to release a game that isn't going to do good anyway.

They pretty much just need to keep kissing Blizzard's ring. Activision....Most hated publisher, no doubt.

Activision continue to suck more and more. All they really care about now is Call Of Duty but now they simply don't give a s**t about anything that isn't remotely CoD related. Seriously if for some reason CoD continue to rise in sales game by game there gona end up having like 5-6 dev studios making CoD games, while any other dev studios would have all been wiped out.

Shame Activision has canceled True Crime I was looking forward to the game. Activision should try something new instead of relying on the Call of Duty series.

UFG is a good developer but I doubt they could have made the definitive True Crime game. The first game was only good for a cheap thrill, it suffered from poor control and bad fight mechanics. True Crime NY was mildly better but every other game in the genre was far better. The best part of NY was the Redman level, that was pure gold and insanity but it didn't save the game.....

The article mentions only LinkedIn numbers.....but the lay off affected a little over 100 people, as a friend of mine there had told me.
