It's been confirmed, the game is coming out October 22nd! A full month after it was released in the EU, but better late then never I suppose. Special thanks to Sony for holding the game

Frozenbyte's action platformer Trine probably wasn't on most people's radars before the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo. However, with just about a month left before release, the game received a healthy infusion of interest, thanks to an impressive E3 showing where it walked away with GameSpot's Best Downloadable Game award. The PC edition of Trine subsequently went on to garner positive reviews upon its release on July 9.
The PlayStation 3 version of the game, however, remains MIA. In mid-July, a Frozenbyte employee indicated on the game's official forums that Trine would finally arrive for the PlayStation Network this Thursday, July 30. However, that will not be the case, with the same company representative citing a software bug as the reason for the most recent delay.
"Unfortunately, Trine isn't coming to PSN this week, and this time it's our fault as there was discovered yet another small bug, which needed to be fixed," the representative wrote. "I can't tell for sure when the release is coming, as no one really seems to know. Also, I have no idea [if] EU and NA releases [are] timed differently. For us, not knowing is also a bit tough, but I hope it's eventually worth all the waiting."

Maybe they meant October 5th??? Anyway, according to the dev's website, it sounds like it could be any day now.
@ Majali4 I know it has online play, but it doesn't have local co-op online play which is my problem with it. It's still a great game but I think Trine wins out over Fat Princess because Trine has local co-op.
I was disapointed Trine didnt come out today until I realised Fat Princess has been released. I cant remember when I last played a game this fun and adictive.
you know what would be really cool if they bundled fat princess and this into one download that would be an instant buy
I think that they didn't want the competition from Fat Princess. Who can blame them? This so called 'recession' hanging around. Sony pullign a fast one on the fans and announcing a release date 3 days before the release has caught these guys by suprise too.
On the bright side, it's hardly the FIRST knock I have had with PS3 generally, or the PSN specifically. I mean the content is lacking, the interface is cumbersome, and 'stuff' generally is hard to locate, but at least they have missed about 3 release date promises in a row, without warning.
@valacan i guess u havent watched the thingy on fat princess before it came out it has a 24 player online thingy majigga watever but its kick ass lol
So basically your telling me that Trine doesn't want its sales to get dwarfed by Fat Princess' release? Hey I dont mind it makes business sence. I'll buy both either way (waiting on PSN update in a few hours for FP now!) but not everybody throws money at PSN like I do so ya do what ya gotta do Trine. Still lookin forward to you!
Trine soundtrack released just as delay is announced...!!!!! http://adjix.com/gg3d
@ArdcoreCasualty Fat Princess would also win out for me if only it have had local co-op like Trine does.
well thanks for the update. i've been checking for the game almost everyday and all i keep seeing are cross edge add-on's......lol.....
:( Oh well, i will get it when it comes out. I have been watching this game for a long, long time so a little while longer won't hurt. Fat Princess will keep me busy! :D
Fat princess eclipses Trine for me. I would have bought it a few weeks ago but I'm not too sure now.
If the PC version has controller compatibility and doesn't require more than 512MB of RAM, I think I'll just get that one. I wonder if it'll ever make its way to Wii.
@ issizots i agree! console wars is lame... actually so lame in fact it could be produced into a game, where you get an xbox 360 and a ps3 turn them into robots and have them fight it out, make it old skool like rock'em sockem'em robots. as for Trine looks interesting could be a nice investment!
GOD just shut up SalarianChemist, every blog post i've seen you even post has always mentioned how xbox 360 is superior to the ps3. why don't u just hush it, no one is buying and you make people mad at you being EVERY POST you make is about console wars. This is the Trine post not how much 360 is so called better than ps3. Infact I don't even remember Xbox 360 even mentioned for Trine so why are you here? Unless you've got a PS3 or own the game on PC then your words are pretty much false and useless for EVERYONE. go to bed kid.
I am halfway through the PC version and I cant wait to buy it for my PS3. Its super beautiful, great to play and has one of the best soundtracks ever. Screw 3D ! 2,5 FTW :)
@SalarianChemist Are you really so insecure about owning an Xbox 360? It seems like every post you make includes a bullet-point list of occasionally dubious reasons as to why the Xbox is better than the Playstation. Can I recommend shutting up?
@darkspawn627: I agree with you. It's a shame that co-op online gaming has not been embraced on the Playstation 3 the way it has on the Xbox 360.
Now there's no doubt I'll be getting this for my PC. Release dates matter. I bought Marvel vs Capcom 2 on Xbox Live Arcade today for two reasons: 1. Xbox Live Arcade has by far the largest number of people to play with for console gaming 2. Marvel vs Capcom 2 was released only on Xbox Live Arcade. I'm a huge fan of the game, so I bought it the moment it was released. It's going to be like that with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in November, too. After all, Xbox 360 is getting all those exclusive maps and features for this Call of Duty game, so there is no doubt which version I'm getting.
With all of the delays going around, Im now going to take any game's release date I see with a big grain of salt. At any rate I was hoping to download it this week but I suppose I can wait a little longer, *sigh. @ raahsnavj: XBLA version will be out some months from now and published by Atlus.
not surprised this happened. after the first few times that the date changed, i figured a delay was on its way. maybe, because of this, they'll be willing to drop the price a bit... the pc price, in my opinion, was way too expensive:S
Eh, I can take the wait. I was planning on buying this game but I was really hyped up for it's release. If it's released within a month I'll have no complaints
