Top Gun heading back into danger zone
Mastiff to rerelease Top Gun: Combat Zones for multiple platforms and Top Gun: Firestorm for GBA at discount prices.
Titus' Top Gun franchise is feeling the need for speed again. Mastiff has signed a deal with Viacom and Titus to send two Top Gun titles off the runway for a second time.
The agreement allows Mastiff to rerelease two of Titus' Top Gun titles, Top Gun: Combat Zones for the PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Game Boy Advance and Top Gun: Firestorm Advance for the GBA. The games, based on the 1986 Tom Cruise flyboy flick of the same name, were originally released in 2001 and 2002.
In Top Gun: Combat Zones, players will once again go onward to the danger zone through 36 different missions over four locations. The flight-combat simulator pits several playable planes against air, sea, and land units.
Top Gun: Firestorm Advance brings dogfighting to the Game Boy Advance across 12 missions as players try to outperform Iceman at the Top Gun Academy. Firestorm also supports multiplayer modes with the GBA link cable.
Both titles will be available this holiday season at the low price of just $9.99, and they are rated "E" for Everyone. For more information on the games, check out our previous coverage of both Combat Zones and Firestorm Advance.
