Tom Clancy's EndWar: Review Update (And a Note on Valkyria Chronicles)

Ok wheres the VC review? I know it's a tight schedule but that game came out 2 weeks ago.. It's it an ample amount of time to get the review done while you can easily post a review about Tales of Vesperia in a matter of 3 days?

seriously where's the review at?? I've already bought the game, and i'm loving it. Just want to know what Gamespots opinion is on the game.

Its been over 2 weeks since Valkyria Chronicles launched in the US, surely you've been able to get your hands on the game by now?

Endwar looks interesting but im just wondering if the single-player is any good, before I ever play a game online I always try to finish the single-player campaign of a game

Not very hyped 'bout EndWar but I'm really expecting GS review for Valkyria's Chronicles. It's going to be the key to decide either buy it or not. In addition, I've read GS saying about Resistance 2 review: "Review is scheduled to go live on Monday", what happened?

Well tudyniuz Gears of War 2 isn't as long as Resistance 2 But they could have problems uploading it like they did with Gears 2 and Gears 2 review was done by the UK I have no idea what the guys stateside are doing with Resistance 2.

Playing games almost every hour of everyday, im sure you wouldn't complain with a job like that lol, but it must start to grind away at you. I could see myself starting to loath games, especially if i got the latest re-hash on my desk. Ever find yourself worried you won't like a game because you have been playing so much?

Kevin,Resistance came out today,while Gears of War 2 will be available starting with the 7th of November.Why is the GoW2 review done and the Resistance one not?So I'm still not right when I say that the PS3 is left aside?

I can respect the delayed review. One thing I can give a nod to Gamespot for is their thorough reviews. And for the most part, they don't conform to the hype of these "AAA" releases and inflate reviews (with GTA4 and MGS4 being a few blemishes) like most of their publishing cohorts do. Judging by the demo, TCEW seems to be a great game. Unfortunate that it will be overlooked by the masses due to the hype of other releases this week.

Good stuff Kevin, take your time. That's the reason I go to GS...honest and most importantly, thorough reviews.

hey kevin i understand that the huge multiplayer prowess of endwar didn't work out, but how was the single-player portion of endwar? long/short? good/bad?

heres a little rant..i love gamespot....but this pharse is turning into "i love(ED) gamespot" as some of the reviews r lacking and u guys are talking WAY to long in reviewing games...for exampl Valkyria Chronicles...how come u guys didnt get a reviewable copy when a few other sites have....i feel as i am losing credibility ...and tht is making me really depressed as i have come to love and trust Gamespot..get ure game togather ppl at Gamespot!!!

Hey beenieman40K, are you saying the exact words along the top screen cuz I spent 10 minutes on dat trainer demo not realizing I had to say a specific sequence of words to progress. At first I thought it was my accent (I from de caribbean and judging from ya name I figure u is too). But ya cud just skip de voicetrainer demo if ya talking the queens english and de default will pick it up.

Ok seriously you guys have to be patient. They are trying their best especially this few weeks when all games came out relatively close. You guys are only focusing on the games with big hypes. Gamespot is trying their best to review all the games at once. Heck i didn't know Star Ocean came out. I just read the review.

yboucher, those PC adventure games reviews (which people do care about) are done by freelancers.

You guys are taking FOREVER !! Ok, you didn't get a copy of Valkyria Chronicles... but what about Resistance 2, GoW 2, Quantum of Solace ?? Meanwhile you're putting out reviews of PC adventure games that nobody cares about... ! Has the soul of Gamespot truly moved over to Giant Bomb ? You guys are totally losing your edge !

What type of mike do you have? Maybe you need a quieter environment or higher quality mike. I will get to play it tonight and the headset I have is pretty crappy so we will see.

Kevin, I could not get past the stupid voice training mode on the end war demo It tried speaking the queens english and everything but the piece of crap was still misconstruing what I said I hope you don't overrate this game and overlook it's issues just because it's built for consoles. company of heroes only got a 9 from yourselves and it's one of the RTS out there and truly revolutionised the genre

Hey, since you have all this free time not reviewing other games, how about reviewing some of the PSP games that have come out the last few weeks?

Hopefully when I get home tonight it will work, I think there was maybe a glitch or something when I downloaded it the first time. Haywirea, what crawled into your brain and died, because that is lots of bile spewing from your fingertips. KVO might not be a savant when it comes to demoing a game but I think he is very spot-on with his reviews and I agree with him 90% of the time. Who cares what his skills are with a controller because he is a writer not a pro gamer and his ability to dissect games and their worth is pretty damn good.

Thanks for the heads-up KVO, I'm assuming you have both versions of the game, but if you could point out what version or any noticeable differences if there are any, that would be a great help. The Endwar demo on my PS3 ran silky smooth, and the after a couple of experiments, I realized problems with voice recognition typically stem from your environment and mike sensitivity.

yeah EndWar demo ran smooth for me on the 360 if it was like Jan. it would be a must buy but against Gears 2 and Resistance 2 it isn't on the top of list of games to get right now. I can't wait for Gears 2 then EndWar not Resistance 2 because I don't have a PS3 but Ican give credit where it is due

I guess the Gears 2 review is not up or will not be so RIOT!! wait if they don't get Resistance 2 up then RIOT!!!

Anyone having trouble playing the demo to EndWar? I downloaded that earlier today on my PS3 and it said error after trying to install for about a minute. I re-downloaded the game but have not tried to install it again. Just curious if anyone else has the same issue.

I dunno Omega.. I'm really excited for it. I loved the Demo. I'm sorry it hasn't been working for you though Beenieman. I haven't had any significant problems save a couple of times I got panicky and tried speaking my commands to fast. (in the Demo)

is resistance 2 review coming out today as well as the gears 2 review? Also kevin please take into account the horrible voice recognition in endwar. I literally could not get past the training in the demo because it couldn't understand what I said

@ Evil Llama MGS4 has always been a 10 on GS. I due believe there was a glitch that showed GTA4 as a 9.5 for a short period of time though.

@Kevin Yes, but GTA4 paid for advertising, didn't they? And didn't MGS4 get a 9.5 first? I find myself being a bit of a money-bias hunter on your site..

I know its a bit off topic from the post here, but does anyone know whats up with the Gears 2 review? the UK team was supposed to post it sometime around 2pm GMT, and its now not far off 9pm. Uploading issues?

For example: Silent Hill on the 360 has a review,the PS3 version doesn't,the review for the 360 version of Dead Space was posted a couple of days later.Even if you guys said that it's because you didn't get your hands on it,it doesn't matter.Bad Company on the 360 has a video review,the PS3 version doesn't.The list just goes on.The PS3 is always left aside or at the end.Even on marathons or on video screens from reviews there's always the 360 version.I just don't think it's fair.I have both systems,and I know which one is better,I'm just surprised that you guys,who play many more games than me, on all the platforms don't admit that the other console is better or at least equally good.I just can't understand that.I'm probably gonna get moderated for this but I think I'm speaking in the name of many others.
