Tokyo Game Show to host Ninja Gaiden Tournament finals
Grand finale to the Master Ninja Tournament will be held during Japan's top game conference.
Ending months of speculation, Tecmo announced the locale of the final round of its international Ninja Gaiden competition. As some had suspected, the Master Ninja Tournament Worldwide Finals will be held at this year's Tokyo Game Show in September. Tecmo and Microsoft will fly the American winners of the first and second rounds to the event, where they will join their European and Japanese counterparts.
While the first round of the Master Ninja Tournament has ended, the second round is currently ongoing. Those wishing to join the event must first register at www.masterninjatournament.com, then download the new Hurricane Pack: Volume I on Xbox Live. At approximately 12:01pm PDT on August 30, 2004, the gamer with the highest karma score on the tournament leaderboards will be the winner of the tournament. The winner will be announced on or around September 10, 2004.
Besides containing a bevy of new enemies and the boujutsu weapon, the Hurricane Pack revamps Ninja Gaiden with improved AI, alternate camera controls, and more. For an in-depth exploration of the Hurricane Pack: Vol. 1, check out GameSpot's hands-on impressions of the expansion.
