THQ's Tak series hasn't seen a new game released in almost two years, but the franchise is set to emerge from its slumber tonight. THQ partner Nickelodeon is set to air the first half-hour episode of its computer-animated Tak and the Power of Juju series tonight at 8 p.m. EST.
Like the games, the TV show takes place in a tribal fantasy world and follows a teenaged apprentice of a shaman who must use the sacred power of juju to thwart the plans of the evil Tlaloc. The show boasts a cast of celebrity voice actors, with the voice of Tak being provided by Hal Sparks (Talk Soup, Queer as Folk), with Patrick Warburton (The Venture Brothers, the live-action version of The Tick) reprising his role from the games as the Tak's buddy Lok.

This situation reminds me of The Super Mario Super Show and that Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon.....
Yea this show was really lame I saw part of it when my brother left the TV on. It was horrible
Tak was a bad game never mind a bad show. Viva Pinata has started a new evil trend.... god save us all.
I saw this stupid show - dumbest fking show to date I believe. Seriously - any animated movie or video game that gets turned into a movie sucks. CN and Nick have changed for the worse lately. I used to love watching CN but now its all stupid half minded shows like Billy n Mandy and School of 2000 or whatever that seriously don't make any sense and are pointless to a point that shouldn't be watched by kids. Seriously, what happened to Dextor's Laboratory? That was a good show and makes a whole lot more sense the stupid Grim Reaper playing with kids, seriously. As for Nick, it still has some decent shows but seriously - everything has spun out of control.
Sly Cooper, Jak, and Ratchet & Clank never got a show, but Tak does?
where's my trauma center cartoon show!? i wanna see anime doctors scrambling and panicking for 30 minutes trying to talk about their childhood while doing an operation! i smell an emmy!
just as long as this piece of crap doesn't interfere with Adult Swim I'm all good
I actually saw the show, and its actually pretty good for a kids show. Better than most of the trash out there now...
The games flopped, Now its time for the show to flop.
Wow @ all you people. Someone call the WAAAHmbulance. Seriously, you people have nothing better to do than trash talk a cartoon you people don't like. Just shut up and let the cartoon cater to its intended audience and go watch the cartoons you like. No need to trash talk every single thing you hate. Honestly, I saw this cartoon debut and it was decent. Good animation but so far I'm not impressed. I'll give it a chance though and see how it develops.
never heard about a tv show from this game before?
it might be a good show...and my heart just stopped
Why this game? Why now?
It was awesome!!!!!!!!!!! :D
Tak > Squirrel Boy
Its intended for 8 year olds. So who cares, let them make it.
i liked tak. jeez you people are harsh
Am I the only one who has not heard of these games ever?
 it might be funny
Eh, at least it's not Nick Jr. I only played a bit of the first game; I didn't think it was too great. I might watch this tonight if nothing better is on.
My two year old likes the colours, so I was forced to watch this garbage and believe me it sucks.
I guess the games sold so bad,THQ had to resort into turning it into a mere child's show.I saw the show and I just laughed at how horrible the dialogue is and it lacks any humor found in shows such as Invader Zim or Rocko's Modern Life.I say we get some real news,Gamespot. If Alex Navarro was here,we'd get some really good news!
idc, and i dont think any1 does
just another reason i dont watch T.V. enymore...
Favorite quote from WoodieFest "HELP ME! I don't know, but I think I just got engaged!" -Lok
tak 1 - 6.8, tak 2 - 6.7, tak 3 - 6.2, tak the tv show - nuff said
Guys, the Tak games were MADE by Nickelodeon (more or less). At the very least, they were owned by them. This shouldn't come as a surprise to people. I'm sure this has been on the list of projects for years, and that they're just pulling it out now for any number of reasons. (gap in the schedule, finally enough 3d personel, etc.)
I caught a bit of this while unwinding after work at home yesterday. It's not half bad, really, though I do wonder why the show debuted now, when there are no new installments of the series out and the previous installments were never really popular in the first place.
Yeeeeah, have had to watch this all weekend long with my son, it's now his most favorite show on the DVR. I could have sworn the voice of Tak was the same guy that did the voice of Fry in Futurerama, sounds just like him. For the 10 and under age range this show may actually last a lil bit.

for serious yo. "dis' gunna be lame"
Uh-oh, careful THQ. Don't abuse a character we don't care about. You know, its sad that a certain video game character gets abused by TV, this is great though. Its probably gonna be as bad as the Sonic series (:shudders:). But anyway, we really want a Crash Bandicoot show that isn't in Nickolodean or CN (otherwise, it'll get as much fame as that Sonic series I still shudder about)
I'd rather see Crash Bandicoot.
Nick has just been releasing crap like this for a while. The must not be able to think of better plots for the old shows. Video game related tv shows like this are terrible. Symphonia and Sonic X are great, but crap like the old Mario show and Sonic Underground... Let's hope this fails like the game.
wow a other show that no one will f@#$ing watch but i hope the two people that do watch it enjoy them self
lame..
I'm sure someone wil watch this.
I dunno about anyone else here, but I found the games to be funny, so the idea of a TV show seems logical. It'll fail, of coarse, but it's still a logical choice.
Great [/sarcasm]
This'll do good on Nickelodeon because Tak may have been a flop, but kids loved playing Tak. They'll recognize the characters on the TV show, and they'll watch it, which will make it live plenty of seasons.
oh no.please leave me be.I played your rubish game. Please no more
Oh no!!! He's back!!! (*hides in the closet*)
all the kiddes under 9 are screaming YAAAAAAAAY. for me though this sounds really bad. why do we need this? make sonmething else into a tv show. like R6 that would be cool. Romanticide 'Called "Tak" for a reason.' oh thanks rom that really made me laugh I had to quote that.
hold on, I'm about to give a damn...................
yay for Patrick Warburton.
tak and the power of juju is a kid's game. you would say bad stuff about a kids game. you say Sales for the game flop and it gets a tv is bad. I say if the kids like the tak games then it will get a tv show. too bad hollywood can't do the same thing.
Patrick Warburton is the best!
This is a show?

It probably won't last/ the game didn't do well ad neither will the tv show. i'd prefer a new captain N series or something.
