The Walking Dead gets first-person shooter

Activision enlisting Terminal Reality to produce Xbox 360, PS3, PC game based on AMC horror series; release set for 2013.
The Walking Dead is getting another game adaptation. IGN is reporting that Activision is following up on Telltale Games' episodic adventure spawned by the comic series with its own first-person shooter based on the AMC TV series.
The game will be set in rural Georgia and center around brothers Daryl and Merle Dixon, and recap their journey to Atlanta through the zombie-dotted countryside. Players will be able to choose whether to confront the undead head-on or attempt to avoid detection and minimize the number of firefights. The latter approach may be beneficial, as proper rationing of food and ammunition will be a consideration for players.
This is not the first time Terminal Reality has made a game with undead adversaries. The studio was previously responsible for Atari's Ghostbusters: The Video Game, as well as Majesco's BloodRayne and BloodRayne 2. Its most recent release was April's Xbox 360-exclusive Kinect Star Wars.
Activision's The Walking Dead is expected to launch next year for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

When i first read the headline i was worried, thinking they had given into the of a lot of people and made a fps that was demanded, but the choice between fighting, and being stealthy is a great one, but i am sure a lot of people will try to play rambo, killing as many infected as they can with firearms... thinking this is a l4d game, here's hoping we won;t have to hear them talk much, I don't like their diction, and forcing me to hear it, will kill brain cells as the seconds of dailoug advance...

@vault-boy Maybe I use too many commas but the fact remains, a majority of gamers did/do not like the taletell game, which is too bad for them...
1 Like Oh no, not Activison who publishes the same old Call of Duty and Terminal Reality who developed that awful Star Wars Kinect. In my opinion, I can see this game being really disappointing and completly fail so bad that it will be so awful.

1 Like I just had a flashback to the time I spent playing the game that was made based on the Land of The Dead film for the original Xbox.Yikes.
The only surprising thing here is it took so long .
My hopes weren't high for Telltales Games but that turned out to be very well done so here's hoping for two in a row.
I actually had high hopes for the telltale game since Kirkman, the creator of TWD franchise approved it, agreed to callaberate and work with Telltale on the game. Gary whita who worked on book of eli and is a fan of TWD comics also agreed to write part of the game. The game managed to exceed my already, high expectations.
I am skeptical about this new FPS though. It seems like another cash in title that's action and little or no substance. I think i'll pass on this one.

I heard the game is you live in a country house with some folks, you go around and talk to people and if you manage to get to the end you might get to fire a bullet.

1 Like Either this game will be pretty decent or pretty mediocre. Activision had better take notes on the TV and comic series if they want to create a true TWD experience.
I hope they dont kill off this game, it has the potential of being good especially with Daryl as the main character!
1 Like Not really excited about this given Terminal Realities history of games...then again I didn't think Telltale Games would be able to capture the tension/suspense of the walking dead with their style and I was wrong about that. I really hope this game is good but I'm not holding my breath..
3 Like It can go one of two ways:-
1) Typical FPS where you shoot lots of zombies
2) They take note of the source and make a survival game. Tension. Anyone can die.
The telltale walking dead game is very good. Glimmer of hope.
