@FreedomPrime Dragon Age 2 was not a bad game, it was a really good game, but relative to DAO it was mediocre. Its because it was rushed, Bioware was not really to blame, it was EA. Bioware has always been a awesome game developer!

Oh, and rampart is amazing!!! I miss that game :(

I love how bioware makes one bad game (dragon age 2) and that somehow means they are now a horrible developer now. 0_o

I also want to like scary games, but I'm too stressed while I'm playing them. I admire the tension created in a lot of horror games, but I can't enjoy a game that uses tension too constantly throughout.

Woah woah woah, Tom McShea is saying we're idiots if we disagree with the VGA winners? What kind of statement is that? I gathered that he was saying I'm a close-minded idiot if I don't let the choice of a panel of journalists change my own opinion, which is an idiotic statement in itself. He said something to the effect of gamers "not wanting to listen to any dissenting opinion", as if we should listen to dissenting opinions (which we do) and then change our own preferences based on that. If you change your own opinion just to match someone else's, you should probably get your priorities straight. No one is stupid because they don't let their personal choice not winning an award diminish its effectiveness on them. @Millertime1989 The only retards who call into question the virginity (as if that had any relevance or bearing on anything) of anyone else are no doubt desperate virgins themselves, so way to call yourself out, kid. I shouldn't expect anything less from an idiot with a terrible beer (or water in Miller's case) in their username.

I have the downloaded audio-only Hotspot playing in a loop for like the fifth time while I play Tekken 6 BR with the sound turned down and I am having so much fun! You guys are all so in the know and make great jokes too. Keep up the AMAZING work! I did not even notice that Kevin was absent. I like the shouty intro, it's hilarious :D

I am so freakin excited for Metal Gear Rising! I don't get how someone who has played Bayonnetta or Vanquish can doubt for even a second that this game is going to be awesome!

@TomM_GScom I should also add that those figures were from February, so by now those figures are much greater, but I understand what you are saying, do I agree, no. I feel the game really did need to exist, I personally do not like the DOTA style of RTS game's. They feel too shallow and really lack depth that a true RTS has. And as far as heart of the swarm sales go, we will just have to wait and see.

Oh, and I love Mr. Sinclair. Bring him back some more, I miss his hosting of the Hotspot.

@tomm_gscom you guys should remove the feature where if your comment gets alot of thumbs down, it gets blocked. it makes you feel like your getting in trouble by posting your own opinion of a game that people disagree with.

@FreedomPrime Yes, those numbers justify its existence, and I'm sure Blizzard turned a profit on that game. What I apparently failed to convey is that 4.5 million units no longer constitutes blockbuster status. Compare Cataclysm sales, which were 3.3 million on launch day. Also, I'm of the opinion that Wings of Liberty sold well due to nostalgia, not interest in the genre. I think the release of Heart of the Swarm will bear that out when it sells considerably less.

I hope Brendan shows up more on the podcast.

I am extremely excited for metal gear rising, I love the new style and platinum games so far, have not disappointed me.

Blizzard just trumpeted the sales numbers for StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty, the first installment in its long-time-coming sequel to the strategy classic. The numbers: "a day-one sales milestone of more than 1 million copies sold worldwide" and "1.5 million copies in its first 48 hours." The context: It's already the "best-selling PC game of 2010 within its first 24 hours of availability" and now holds the "record for fastest-selling strategy game of all time."

tom, here is some knowledge During Activision Blizzard's financial conference call today, Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime states that sales of its sci-fi RTS game StarCraft II are approaching 4.5 million units since its release back in July. While that's huge for a PC exclusive game that's actually less than some people though it would sell. Several months ago Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey predicted the game would sell as much as 7 million copies by the end of Activision Blizzard current fiscal year which ends on March 31

What I don't understand is why are there platform specific Best Game Awards if the nominees are not platform specific. How can Skyrim be voted the best game of the year and not be considered the best game in all platforms it's been released in? Only if one of the versions is completly broken, otherwise it has to win. It's like a french film winning the Best Picture Academy Award but loosing the award for the Best Foreign Language film.

With a lot of gamers it's valid to say that they aren't objective about the games they like/don't like. But not all of us ignore the flaws/good points in games. Just because our opinions may not agree with a professsional game reviewers doesn't make the reviewers opinion more or less valid. The same goes for game awards going to games we like/don't like.

If the oscars were the VGA's, Michael Bay would win best director of the year, along with Transformers 3 winning best film of the year.-_-

in my opinion the VGAs show was great and i care who won,i don't think that this show was based by bunch of journalists votes,i vote there and many other people and the host Zachary Levi was great especially that joke with potions to restore health :) Skyrim got GOTY of 2011,if there was nominee for Game Of All Time Skyrim gets my vote too.
