TGX 2011 to be held this September
Game show in Singapore to feature World Cyber Games qualifiers and game industry networking event.
Singapore can now add one more gaming convention for the year alongside this week's Licence2Play event. The Games Xpo (or TGX) 2011 will be back for the third time and will be held at the Singapore Expo Hall 5A from September 9 to 11. The current lineup of exhibitors so far includes Gunnar Optiks, Games Exchange Alliance, e-Sports Association of Singapore, and the Singapore Cosplay Club.
The convention will host this year's Singapore qualifiers for both the World Cyber Games and the International e-Sports Federation (or IeSF 2011). The winners of these qualifiers will get the chance to represent Singapore for the grand finals of the respective tournament. The official games of these tournaments include StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty, Counter-Strike 1.6, League of Legends, FIFA Online 2, and Blackshot.
The expo will also have a side exhibition called TGX Connect, which is a business-to-business matchmaking and networking event for people within the gaming industry. To increase awareness of the event, organizers MediaCorp VizPro International and Rapture Gaming will be hosting showcases in malls and school tours. The tours will be held from July until August, though the actual dates have yet to be confirmed.
