TGS 2012 to feature larger international presence - CESA
Ticket prices for upcoming Japanese trade show also detailed.
The Consumer Entertainment Supplier's Association in Japan recently announced that this year's Tokyo Game Show will have more of an international presence than the previous show.
Sixty-eight out of 171 confirmed exhibitors are said to be from outside Japan. For comparison's sake, last year's show had 62 international exhibitors out of a total of 193.
The scale of the show will be slightly bigger, with the current figure of units of space used for this year's show to be 1,592 units. Tickets for the public days will cost 1,000 yen ($13) and will be on sale at various Japanese ticket outlets on July 11.
Tickets for business-day attendees will cost 5,000 yen ($63) for both business days on September 20 and September 21. Registration for the business days start this August.
This year's show will host many subevents, like the Tokyo Game Show Forum 2012 (featuring yet-to-be-announced keynote speakers), the Asia Game Business summit, the Cyber Games Asia e-Sports tournament, and a booth tour for international and domestic visitors. The cosplay section of TGS will be held just outside the main event space of TGS instead of between halls 3 and 4.
More information will be disclosed in July. The Tokyo Game Show 2012 will be held from September 20 to 23 at the Makuhari Messe, Chiba Prefecture, in Japan.
