I think this version of Castlevania either got cancelled or down the line as another castlevania game. Seems like after the failure of castlevania: judgement, Konami killed this project. Made lord of shadows a Castlevania game and probably ask Kojima to retool the story, make the game more cinematic (only Kojima can make game trailers that good), and just supervise the game.
TGS 2008: Castlevania stakes claim on PS3, 360
Konami's gothic horror franchise is ready to whip it on new systems; teaser trailer suggests the return of Alucard.
TOKYO--With Castlevania titles making their way to both the Nintendo DS and Wii, it was just a matter of time for new installments the franchise to surface for Sony and Microsoft's latest consoles. During a presentation at Konami's 2008 Tokyo Game Show booth, series producer Koji Igarashi unveiled that a new Castlevania is in the works for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. No title or release date for the project was announced, but Igarashi did show off a 20-second teaser trailer.
The trailer started off by zooming into a tall cliff surrounded by water. The moonlit cliff tops revealed a silhouette of a man standing in the middle of ruins. The screen then went black for a second, with text that read, "The cursed bloodline cloaked in darkness." The screen then zoomed in on the handsome young man, who had long hair and eyes that suddenly glowed red as he looked toward the camera.
"Betrayed by his own kind... Destroyed his father... Destiny tainted with blood."
The screen returned to the cliff once more as the man raised his hand to create a red sword out of nowhere. The camera zoomed out, revealing a character in full costume who appeared to be Dracula's son Alucard.
Konami currently has three Castlevania projects in the works. In Japan, Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia for the Nintendo DS is slated for release on October 23. Castlevania Judgement for the Wii will follow a few months later on January 15. Konami is also working on an arcade game titled Castlevania: The Arcade, which has been beta-testing in Tokyo since July. That game is played with a motion-sensitive stick, which can be swung to execute whip attacks.
